  • Today was a big day for me! At 179.2 , I hit the 30 pound loss mark. This is half way to my original goal of 149 (I may shoot for 130 in the long run). Only 30 more pounds to go. It actually feels attainable at this point! This also makes me officially out of obesity range, and also gets me into the 170's! It's been super long since I have seen this weight (pre-3-babies)! I am so excited! My highest weight was 217, so I am amazed that I did this. Thanks for all the support along the way!

Unfortunatley, I hit a major plateau at about 182. I went OP for about two weeks, and didn't gain a lot, but did hover between 183 and 184. I ate a lot of crap, and in turn, I felt like crap. I am back on plan now, and I am staying here for the long haul. I cannot even tell you how bad I felt while OP. I am feeling a little more determined now, and I know the next 30 are going to be gone soon.

I *JUST* finished my first day, level one, of JM's 30 day shred. I didn't think it was horrible, but definitely felt the burn (and the sweat)! I am looking forward to it, as it's so much more conveinient than running to the gym with hubby out of town for work. Plus, I don't have to shell out money to the babysitter. Double bonus. Has any one had success with this plan, and if so, please share! I am hoping to lose 10 more by July 10. They advertise up to a 20 lb weight loss, but I will happily settle for less! I love hearing personal successes, and I hope you guys will tell me how it was for you!
  • Congrats hun. x
  • I lose pretty regularly doing the shred, but just like any exercise. It doesn't make weight go any quicker than if I do Turbo Jam or go running. I do enjoy it and the fact that it's 25 minutes. I think as long as you're moving you're doing something right! Keep to your plan and you may hit 10 lb - but realize that any loss is a success!
  • hey, i just started the shred too!
  • Congratulations!!! I have that DVD at home, but haven't got enough guts to try it yet!!
  • Congrats! I have been wanting to try that DVD - let us know how it goes!
  • I did day 1 yesterday. Honestly, its not that bad. I NEVER worked out until March. I usually go to the gym 3-5 days a week. I did the trainer thing 1 day a week in March, then 2 a week Apr and May, and I had no problem with the video. Its a great workout and nice and short, and is very similar to the circuit I do with my trainer. I am a little sore on the outer parts of my knees, but that is the only spot. I would really recommend it though, as she gets you sweating and it is really a whole body workout! Can't wait to do it again tonight. Jillian will be my trainer 5 days a week for the next month! I will keep you all posted on the results!
  • I heart Jillian, and it is awesome that you have a goal for everyday with her videos! Good luck and let us know how you are doing!
  • I just started 30DS - in fact, I'm still sweating after day 4, level 1! I want to do the full 30 days and see if I can shed some of these last few pounds and put on a few pounds of lean muscle!
  • Happy Shredding!

    I'm on Day 17 so...Level 2, Day 7
Jillian doesn't actually recommend doing it for 30 days straight but I'm trynna prove something to myself.

This is my third attempt and this is the furthest I've gotten. I'm losing my usual 2lbs a week but I'm not doing much additional cardio these days.

I can tell you that I'm getting stronger and my endurance has increased considerably. AND I'm feel some new muscles, lol

Have fun! I hope you love planks
  • I use her other DVDs when I have more time, but Shred is a great quickie workout. I alternate between level 2 and 3, depending on my mood, and it definitely gets you sweating. I love bodyweight exercises and all her dvds really focus on that.

If you guys are getting bored of Shred and looking for a more complete weight routine try No More Trouble Zones. It's my favorite and you really feel it the next day the first few times you do it. It's less intense but I think it's a better workout overall. It's 45 minutes.

    Happy Shredding!
  • NMTZ is a butt kicker if you're new to it. The first time I finished it, I was too sore to sit comfortably for a few days. Not such a problem anymore
  • I did 30DS the other day for half of it and I was so sore the next day. I'm so outta shape though. My arms hurt, knees, thighs, core...and that was only about 10 minutes of exercise! I really should do it again today...I think I might. Thanks for the motivation! Haha!
  • sgregg- Go for it! It only gets better. Believe me. Even if you stay on level 1 forever you get stronger and feel my capable as you progress.
  • Congrats Jaime! You go girl! I heard that the shred is brutal which is why I'm waiting untill I get some endurance to do it.
Good luck with the rest of the shred and keep us posted.
