Photoshopped celebrities: Faith Hill, America Ferrara, Kimora

  • Another group of celebrities who have been digitally retouched to change their basic body shape, lose weight, lose wrinkles and lose any semblance of being a real woman.

    Faith Hill in Redbook

    America Ferrara in Glamour

Kimora Lee Simmons in perfume ad
  • One of these days I'd love to get a hold of a photo of *myself* and shop it.
  • So frustrating about America Ferrera - she's always held up as this standard of successful, curvy girls, but apparently that's not good enough for Glamour. Not to mention, she's f'ing gorgeous as is!
  • Yipes! They sliced off half of Kimora's forearm (arm on the left when you're looking at the picture)!
  • You know, this kinda chaps my butt! I am sure they have done this for a very long time too. This is why we all grew up insecure about our bodies which in turn led to eating and gaining the weight that we are trying to lose. I think these women are absolutely beautiful as they are before being photoshopped. I bet that the media/publisist also lie about movie stars and model weights too.
  • Very sad.

I'd put money on it that they do. Ever notice how (most of the time, in the non-fitness magazines) celebrities claim not to exercise? "oh, I lost those 15 pounds by chasing after my kids" .....sure, chasing after your kids, and working out with your personal trainer 5 days a week. Don't forget eating those meals prepared by your personal chef.
  • But don't all of us, male and female, try to look our best with...

    make-up ~ clothes ~ hair cuts/style...or even younger ....cooler...with tattoos...piercings....

Yes, but we don't publicize doctored-up pictures of ourselves, and then try to tell the world we actually look like that.

But is that because we are not celebrities?

Would we if anyone really cared about how we looked?

I have seen a bazillion pictures of celebrities trying to "fit" in and not be noticed...just trying to walk in a park or go shopping...have a cup of coffee...

knowing full well all around them are people with cameras/phones looking to make a buck....

Isn't it us that are buying those magazines?

I happened to be off work a few weeks ago and caught part of The View...Jennifer Love-Hewitt was on the show...she was all dressed up...make-up, hair...the whole package of the best $$$ could buy I 'spose...

    absolutely gorgeous!

Looked nothing like those "fat thighs" pics that were out awhile ago...

I sure appreciated her make-up artist!....or her personal trainer
  • I think magazines photoshopping pictures is less about celebrity vanity and more about making sure women feel they NEED NEED NEED all the products advertised in the magazine.
