Cals in recipes?

  • How do you ladies measure calories in something that you made from a recipe that does not have the information given. Do you add all the calories up then divide by the amount of servings. Let's say for muffins you add everything up that you put into the batter than divide by how many muffins you made? I am making banana muffins today and since I'm doing WW need to know for the points. Thanks

p.s. If there is a quicker way feel free to inform me.
  • Nope. That's how I do it.

I go to put a new food into Fitday PC and just list all the ingredients and how many servings that makes.

    A.
  • There are also these things called recipe analyzers that will do it for you if you have the recipe on your computer. You have to be careful about making sure they recognize all your ingredients though.

    Here's one:

But otherwise yeah, that's what I do. I add up cals for all ingredients and divide. Or, since I'm doing WW too, I'll add up all the points and divide, but cals is more exact.
  • Thanks ladies! I will be doing that later.
