NSV-Clothes :)

  • I'm sorry that there are a ton of threads about shopping and clothes recently...and I'm just adding to that, but I had to share...mainly because I've told everyone IRL and I"m still too excited.

I graduate on June 5th and I was pretty sure I was going to have to go naked underneath that stupid robe because I had nothing appropriate to wear. I also have to go to Mississippi for a funeral this weekend and my Mom was not such a fan of everything I had planed to bring with me...So I went shopping.

I bought two pairs of shorts in a size 14! Which I don't think I've been able to do since I WAS 14, almost 8 years ago.

And then, I found a dress for graduation. In a freaking size 12. It looks so tiny! But it fits perfectly and I love it. I know the last time I was able to wear a size 12 anything was when I was 13 and had started to seriously diet back then.

Plus, and I know this sounds crazy, but a 12 always seemed like this magical size to me. Like, if I could just wear a size 12, I know I could maintain that, be happy with that, and look good. And clearly, a dress is different than wearing a size 12 pants, but its getting there.

OK, thats all. Its just so nice to be able to go shopping and enjoy trying on clothes and feeling good about myself....rather than just trying to look less fat in whatever I'm wearing.
  • I bet you rock that dress! Congratulations!!!
  • How great! Size 12 is a magical size! I know you look great in that dress!
  • Congrats on graduating, and congrats on the size 12!!! You've earned this. I think I would faint with happiness to be able to buy anything in that size.
  • Congrats!!!

I totally know what you mean. Maybe it's because of our similar age, height, and starting weight (and goal and start time on this site, too lol!), but at my highest weight, for some reason, I dreamed of being in a size 12. I would remember shopping in the juniors section and wearing 12/13s. I wore that size when I was around 13 or 14 years old, too, right around the start of high school. I then gained more weight, then I lost some the summer before junior year and wore that size again and it was just a magical number. When I first started, I couldn't wait to get to the low 200s to be that size lol!

Anyway, enjoy the feeling! It's so nice to be able to wear something because you think it looks GOOD on you, not because it fits and covers all of the necessary bumps!
  • Congrats on the graduation and the clothes!!

I get to wear the dress tonight for a sorority function. I'll be sure to take a picture to post
