Elle Special edition, with heavy model

  • Saw this on my perambulations through the InterWebs, and though you guys might be interested:

It is an Elle spread with a gorgeous, albeit overweight, model. I love some of her clothes! And it really makes me feel like we can, indeed, be attractive and interesting at any size!
  • Just curious what the girl weighs. She looks "average" to me. It is nice to see mainstream media putting normal looking people in ads. :-)

Edited to ad: I googled what Rondes meant! LOL It means Round, this is a plus sized addition of Elle. Gorgeous!
  • man if i looked like that at the size i am i wouldn't be loosing weight! shes got curves that im jealous of ....
  • lol I agree ^

Thank you!!! I always said I wasn't fat.. I was FLUFFY!
  • Hehe, too cute ♥
  • As totally awsome as this is, the cynic in me won't forget that she's still totally airbrushed. Where's the cellulite? Her lines are completly smooth, which isn't realistic for anyone, not even ones at a "healthy" weight.

I guess I see her as "more like me", but not "like me".

It's fantastic that a French magazine would do this!
  • Ah...oui, oui...Tres ronde et tres chic !!
  • wow, is she ever GORGEOUS! she doesn't look plus-sized, she looks completely normal (to me). I bet my boyfriend would say she's perfect.

  • She is gorgeous! Naturally, this is a foreign magazine, possibly from a place that celebrates women of all shapes and sizes and imperfections.

    Clearly, not an American magazine.

I saved her nude pic and will use it for inspiration.
  • Kudos to Elle for doing this!! I'm going to research ... I'd buy a copy.

This is a great contrast to Vanity Fair, who was recently criticized for excluding Gabourey Sidibe in their "rising stars" spread.

Maybe the fashion industry will start to realize that fat chicks love fashion and have money, too!
  • Oh my gosh, she is so so gorgeous.
  • Wow she is beautiful! And yes I agree with the statement that overweight people can be beautiful. I personally think I am gorgeous at a size 20, and get told so all the time. Label this as conceited, whatever, but I'm glad that I have high self esteem.

Although I have seen plus size spreads in mags before, I do still think they are plenty airbrushed. Waiting for the day when a completely un-airbrushed plus size girl is put in a magazine (and is not being ridiculed!)
