freaking scale is NOT moving.. mind you i have to roll down my pants to my hips for them to stay on, my belly had gone what down.. but the stupid scale

i get my 4.5 veggies in i would say 5/7 days. drink lots of water, exercise almost everyday. lean proteins.. no sugar. have just added in a slice of the ezekiel bread..

at a loss...but lovin the plan...

ps how do i fill in my stats by the avatar and get a ticker...

    THANK YOU
  • to The Beach, Susan!

I'm sorry the scale isn't moving for you right now, but that will happen in Phase 2 as your body is making adjustments to your new way of eating. Are you taking measurements? With your looser clothes, you are still losing inches, and soon the scale will catch up. Try to be patient, it will happen!

We're pleased to have you joining us and are looking forward to getting to know you. Come join us in the Daily thread.
  • Hi Susan and

Glad to hear you're enjoying this WOE. I'm really not a huge fan of the scale and your comments certainly reinforce that. I truly don't understand why we can sometimes lose so many inches following SBD and yet have the pounds stay on. I do know, however, while eating OP, exercising and drinking lots of water, my scale weight can go up and down by 5-7 pounds.

For me, if I keep my #1 priority on being healthy-every day OP is a success. I'm off BP meds and have more energy than I've ever had. My tolerance for exercise is improving all the time.

The scale will move-just keep up the good work. Post a sample menu if you want some feedback. BTW-Your ticker takes 20 days and 20 posts...keeps the spammers out!

    Best wishes!!
  • Welcome Susan!!

I have been on SB for 6 weeks now and I'm stalled too. I completely understand your frustration! Just try and focus on keeping your newly giant pants from falling off you and trust that the scale will catch up eventually. Oh, and I need to take my own advice .

    Good Luck!
  • Everything they said! Welcome
  • Hi!! Welcome to the Beach!!!
  • Wow.. i just dont know what to say.. but thank you for making me feel so welcome..

I just took my measurements.. holy crap 2 inches off belly and hips..thats freaking crazy..but darnit it will take it..

It just insane to me that i can eat real food.. and loose weight and inches..

    LOVING the BEACH
  • Hi Susan, Welcome! I'm new here too. This is my first time doing South Beach so I can't comment on it specifically, but I have tried so many diets and I always get frustrated when the loss slows down. The only thing I can suggest is stick with it, even when you're not seeing the numbers change. It's the long haul that makes all the difference. Best of luck to you!
  • That's the spirit!! You will find yourself losing inches everywhere, in places where you don't even think to measure. My shoes are too big now because I have actually lost fat off my feet (which I didn't even know I had).

    THANK YOU
Click on "User CP" on the left hand side in the purple bar near the top of the page and then "User profile" and you can fill in your stats and a few other things you might want under your avatar. I don't know about the ticker.

Congrats on your success so far! You're doing fantastic!
  • Susan, I'm sure the "old timers" here are sick of me saying this, but...
I just stay away from scales completely. Don't know what I weigh and don't care. I stick with the way my clothes fit. When I first started this almost 3 years ago, I'd just feel how loose my clothes were getting. I know there were times I must have stalled, but I let the motivation be feeling better and looser clothing. I went from clothes that were anywhere from 16,18 or 20 down to a 6-8 (depending on the clothes)
To me, scales are just a number and don't reflect good health. Skin is another indicator...if your skin looks happy, you are doing fine!
  • I agree with Cat. Also helpful to measure your waist if you're a numbers person!
  • Welcome Susan!

I have found if I up my exercise (I enjoy walking) it helps get the scale moving. Just adding on an extra 10-15 minutes. Also, I would get in a habit of eating the same thing all the time. Maybe mix up your menu a little bit w/ some new veggies or fruits...

    Good luck!
  • just wanted to say
  • Just wanted to welcome you and 8 pounds is a great start

I make a point to keep a log of my measurements and the scale so I know my body is still changing and I am still progressing .
