  • Hi Welcome to our group! We either have all weighed or either currently on Thursday! Please join us!!! We are a great group!!!
  • Susan, thanks so much for starting us off.
It's hard to believe that February is gone.
    Wow!

  • Ok my friends,

Here's the scoop on Dad... since a week ago, he is down 47, yes I said 47 pounds. ALL FLUID!!! Monday, he was giving up... I had to have a little heart to heart and say "Seamus doesn't want you!!" Daddy said "I want to be with him." I again said "HE ISN't READY FOR YOU and doesnt' want you!!!! He says his momma needs you more right now!!!!" Dad said "OK, I'll fight. I love you baby" I guess I just had to give him a little talk. Then Tuesday, Mom and Dad decided for Dad to go on temporary dialysis to get some of the fluid off!!! He had a whole different attitude! Oh and he pulled his feeding tube out and refused for them to put it back in. So now he is drinking his protein drinks and is on a liquid diet! He has a little feist to him again. Let's see...... they put a trapeze bar in his room so he can help pull himself up some. He is doing that. Today, he told my mom to help him because he was going to walk. He hasn't done that yet and she didn't!!! So tomorrow, somebody better do something because he is ready to get moving!!!!!!

I finally feel better. I just started feeling better yesterday and today. I thought I would bounce right back.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Ours was uneventful. It was nice. We let the dogs out to play some. It's suppose to rain tonight and tomorrow! I'm ready for spring.
  • Hapy March!

Well I sure am glad February is over and behind us! March is a bittersweet month for me..............
My mom lapsed in a coma on March 13 and died on March 17th! (1992) My Kaitlin was born March 24th and SPRING arrives this month! I used to be mean and bitter on St. Patricks Day when people wanted to "celebrate", but I'm over that! In my job, I have to decorate for it, and, it is kinda hard to get a nice display when you are pissy about it. hahah!

Susan - Sounds like your dad is a fighter. So glad he is co-operating! Continued prayers!

Hey everyone else - I hope we have a wonderful month! Here's to a good OP day, week, month!

No snow in our forcast today!!!!!!!!!! (well a coating to an inch, but heck, thats nothing compared to what we are used too!!!!)
  • Ok, so my daughter said mom!!!!! you never swear!!!!!! hahahhaha! Sorry, I hope I didn't offend anyone! It just rolled off my tonuge!
  • Susan - Glad to hear that your dad is doing well.

Things here are well. Justin and I have decided to finally stop saying we're going to do something about our weight. We're actually both getting serious and following WW's. As you know, I have struggled with staying OP, but I'm excited about doing this with him. I think knowing that I have someone who is right there with me will help loads. I'm also thinking it will be easier to stay OP since we're both doing it instead of just me. So here is hello to the beginning of the rest of my life.

    Have a great day ladies.
  • Love this page.. I am starting off new ... again.. on WW (the at home version ). I lost 19 lbs on it last year well, September 2008 and have gained 25 back.. Stress is my worst enemy.

  • Startiff - Welcome. Nice to have you with us. Jump right in and make yourself at home.
  • Thanks
  • Susan, wow to your dad and 47 pounds! I remember when Bob was filled with fluids when he first got sick. He lost about 70 pounds over 3 weeks with some medicine they gave him to get rid of the fluids. I know I asked the doctor if I could have some. Ha. I wasn't the only winner on the bus, so I would have had others helping to buy donuts for the others. Glad to hear that you are starting to feel better.

Jeanne, March 17 isn't one of my favorite days either. That's when I fell in 2004, and all of my aches and pains started with the fibromyalgia. I hope all of the snow is behind us now. We had way too much this year.

Stephanie, the casino we went to was Grand Victoria in Rising Sun, IN. The others along the river are Hollywood (used to be Argosy) Casino and Belterra. I like Belterra the best, but it takes a while longer to get there.

Mimi, we had so many days to make up one year that we had to use up our spring break and add to the end of the school year. That was a long year!!

Maureen, good for you on doing the 20 flights of stairs! I could do it if it was escalators!!! Seriously, my left knee couldn't handle all of the steps.

Tina, are the painters there today? Hope it turns out the way you want! I'm sure you are super excited about getting in there.

Dori, that is great that you and Justin are going to do this together! It is so hard to do and having the extra support will help you, I'm sure.

Startiff, WELCOME to the group! Lots of support on here! Stress can definitely be an enemy.

Nikki, hope you are feeling better!!

My weekend was icky. Just not motivated to do a thing. It seems like lately I'm just so moody and cry so much. Tim and I sat and talked different times over the weekend about how much we miss Bob. I think with graduation and the wedding coming up, it is really making us realize how much we miss him. I hardly ate anything from Thursday to today. I gained 3 pounds. I'm laughing about it because it makes no sense to me. Not changing the tracker because I know once I eat "normal", it will go away. My body is just too weird for words. lol
  • Startiff!!!!!
  • Just thought I'd pop in for a sec. I have a HORRIBLE sinus infection & cannot even stand to sit up much less sit at the computer. Even though I do a lot of it. I need to get up off my tush & motivate myself but it's hard when I can't breathe. So frustrating!

Susan, so happy your dad is cooperating and working toward his recovery!

    Hi Startiff! Welcome!

My hubby is starting WW on Wednesday. I'm so happy! He has a bad family history of diabetes & heart disease. He will be 37 this year and his health really concerns me. The year he turned 35, he was in the hospital for three days for chest pains. He actually had to have a stint because he had a small blockage. He vowed then to do something about his weight & he actually did - he gained about 50 lbs. I think he is seeing that I eat normally on WW, just less of it, and sees that I'm seeing results. Whatever motivates him. I'm just not ready to be a widow.

Well, I've rambled enough. And I know I didn't speak to everyone so I will now - Hi! Will check in tomorrow. Gotta get up & get some laundry in, if nothing else.
  • Stephanie and Dori, having your hubbies participate with you will REALLY help.
having that support there for you will be great and good motivation too.
Jeanne, you know your Mom wouldn't want to ruin a happy day for you if she had the choice. Did she celebrate St. Pat's day?
Susan, I'm glad your Dad is fighting hope he continues to go for it.
    Star, Welcome!!
Tammy, you know that weight will come off probably a bunch of water weight too. Tim's wedding, graduation, a lot of stress for both of you.
Tina, hope the move has gone well. Check in when you can.
  • Hi
    welcome startiff!!

Tammy, talking is good! I'm sure you have all kind of emotions with all that us going on. Watch for signs from Bob!!! I know you and Tim miss him a lot! Hugs!!!

Mimi, you honey are a wealth of knowledge!!! I am honored to be your friend!

Steph and Dori, I second that you are luckyy! My husband is thin and it makes it harder!

Today was NOT a good day for Daddy. He pulled his picc line out! Tomorrow they are putting in a permanent cath for dialysis, until he does need it. Hopefully they can use that as the picc. He was a little confused and ugly to poor Amy. I tried to console her from here. It broke my heart! Lu said he was calm tonight. Might be going back to rehab soon.

I have an upset stomach and intestinal tract. I think just stress. Oh my close friend is in ICU too. She had a colonoscopy on Wed and started bleeding last night! She gad to have 2. Units of blood. Should get out of ICU tomorrow. Her daughther is having a baby on Thursday in College Station so she needs to get out soon!

If I missed you, I'll write more tomorrow. Thanks for all the prayers for Daddy !!! We need them!!
