2 ounces dry spaghetti = ? cups cooked

  • Hi all. I was wondering if anyone knew how much 2 ounces of dry spaghetti ends up being when cooked?
  • According to the National Pasta Association, 8 ounces of uncooked long pasta, such as spaghetti will yield 4 cups of cooked pasta. Thus, a "serving" of 2 oz. uncooked spaghetti will be the nutritional equivalent of 1 cup of cooked spaghetti.
  • Ah, thanks! I had a feeling it was a cup but I wanted to make sure before I "trick" myself otherwise.
  • No prob, I actually googled it a few days ago because I was wondering too.
  • Yeah, my sick mind would say that it's about 2 cups.
  • That's correct for spaghetti, but depending on the cut, you may get more or less with the others. It's always best to weigh pasta before cooking.
