    p.s I originally started these thread after someone stopped in July. My intentions was to give each other ideas and support through our diet but also provide advice if necessary. We ar ejust trying to help each other!

    For me:
    Breakfast: 1 slice of toast and 2 eggs
    Lunch: Padthai of veggies without the noddles.
    Dinner: chicken cilli with homemade croutons.

    exercises:
    35 mins of step and 15 of resistance training.

    Ok here's mine for today -

    B: Cup homemade broccoli soup
    L: Cup broccoli soup, lunchbox of stir fried veg
    S: Wheatgrass juice, cup soup
    D: Baked potato with butter, bowl homemade mushroom soup

    Exercise - Hour or so walking the dog. And the boyfriend.
  • BF: POST GRAPE-NUTS Cereal
    Milk, skim

    L: Bread, barley
    Turkey
    grabbed and went....no veggies...

    S: Olives - greek (12 - hot and spicy)
    4 mini CHEF BOYARDEE Mini Ravioli (errrrrr)

    D: Chicken, breast, 4 oz or so
    Yogurt dressing
    Wild rice
    Olive oil
    Broccoli, raw
    Spinach, raw
    Vinegar, balsamic


    And about 3 cups of coffee

    So today
    B:2 eggs and slice of toast
    L: chilli from yesterday
    D: Spaguetti with a salad
  • I had a bit of a crazy day yesterday-running around everywhere and even got into a little trouble. There is a lady at my church who invites all her "friends" over to get their hair cut and then has a hair dresser come over. She has this beautiful mansion on the beach. She serves hor d'oerve's, wine. I got my hair cut yesterday. Had a few things that were not........sonoma friendly.

    B: shredded wheat n bran, banana, low fat milk, sugar free latte
    L: soy citrus scallops, brussel sprouts
    S: slice of whole grain toast with peanut butter and low sugar strawberry preserves
    D: a variety of hor d'oerve's, hot spiced cider with a little brandy.....then when I came home I had a cup of low carb hot chocolate and tunisian orange, date, and pistachio salad.

    Here's my menu for today
    B: Cup mushroom soup
    L: Cooked mushroom pepper and onion, side salad of rucola and balsamic vinegar, cup mushroom soup
    S: Glass wheatgrass juice, 2 small pears
    D: Courgette, sugar snap peas, mushroom, green and red pepper cooked in tomatoes and spiced with curry powder, tumeric, cumin and coriander
    S: Some red currants, blackberries and raspberries

    Tues:

    B: Canadian bacon and egg pital pocket, sugar free latte
    L: Roasted vegetable couscous with chickpeas and onion-pinenut topping
    D: pita with lemon hummus

    Yes, Zofia this menu was a little light on the protein. I was planning a smoothie for dinner and never got around to it.

    Wed:
    B: Smoothie with greek yogurt, whey protein, frozen berries, sugar free latte
    L: roasted vegetable couscous with chickpeas and onion-pinenut topping
    D: curried lamb and carrots over couscous

    I'm turning into couscous this week. I haven't eaten it for months and I'm eating it twice a day this week.

    Here's my menu for today -
    It's not a lot because I slept quite late then slept again in the afteroon. TOM always brings utter exhaustion for me. Anyway -

    B: Banana
    L: Banana, glass skimmed milk
    D: Bowl homemade courgette and onion soup, banana, cup green tea
    S: Couple dried apricots
  • Here's my yesterdays -
    B: Cup courgette soup
    L: Cooked spiced vegetables
    D: Fillet salmon with cooked veggies. 1/2 braquette of prawns, octopus and mussels, couple roast potatoes. Few glasses of gavi.

    On a night shift tonight so will update later with todays

    I never said you didnt have enough protein? lol
    I find you are relaly good with sonoma. Sure you dont follow it to the letter but your menus are really well balanced and includes a little bitof everything.

    +Everytime I mention not enough grain and proteins its to Cardboardcutoutcat not you lol

    Me today
    Breakfast: Glass of milk, 2 eggs with low fat cheese and green pepper.
    Lunch: Stir fry of green veggies with chicken and a portion of rice noodle (vermicelli)
    Dinner: A pita wrap with chicken salsa, sour cream peppers and cheese.

    Exercise: Resistence routine + Cardio for 45 mins.
  • Here's my todays/tonight's - I won't label them B L and D as there is no order on a night shift.
    Keeping it sensible as I've a wedding tomorrow night. I'll be trying to have a healthy sensible week next week as I'm back to Ireland next Saturday for xmas and ANOTHER wedding and that's where the eating and drinking will begin. I can't wait for this trip..

  • I guess I've missed a little. I was just teasing you Zofia. I see Sarah lost her weight and has been eating more fish. Hope you don't gain it all back while your in Ireland. Have a good time. I lost 2 more lbs this week so I guess I'm doing okay. Slow and steady wins the race or so they tell me.

    Here is yesterday:

    D: curried lamb and carrots, strawberries with mascarpone cheese (this was great)

    Today:
    B: irish oatmeal, honey, raisins, walnuts, sugar free latte
    L: roasted vegetable couscous with chickpeas and onion pinenut topping
    D: curried lamb and carrots with couscous, tunisian orange, date, and pistachio salad.
  • I am new to this diet..

    I am a diet hopper I guess. I was on the weigh watchers, then switched
    to Core WW, and now am trying out Sonoma.
    I am 144(need to change ticker)and would like to be 130.
    Mostly I just want to eat really healthy. I already favor the good foods.
    My weakness is not sweets ,but fast food is a temptation when I am running errands and hungry.

    I like the looks of this diet because I want to be heart healthy
    (lots of family heart disease ) and because I really love almost all the
    foods it recommends.

    One big challenge I have is that my husband is a very basic meat and potatoes
    man.. I am trying to find healthy meals that we can both eat ..sigh...

    ps ..the posts with menus are REALLY helpful to see how the diet translates into real life menus...
  • Hi Nancy,

    Welcome to the thread & good luck with the diet. Mediterranean/Sonoma is a nice diet to follow because really all that you are depriving yourself of is processed/refined fatty stuff.

    I hear you on the fussy significant other situation, I have something similar here.. an Italian boyfriend who will eat nothing but pasta, bread, and cheese. Sometimes he'll cook beautiful food for us, risottos, pastas etc but he's not on a health kick like I am so I just had to draw a line and start cooking seperate things for me. Today at lunch I made stir fry vegetables for my lunch, while he sat and ate a whole block of brie and a french baguette! If that's the way it has to be then that's the way it has to be. I dread to think the size I'd be if I ate the way he did!

    If your hubby is a meat and potatoes guy then I think it should still be easy enough to follow the plan.. I wish you the very best
