Ready to Banish the Baby Weight!

  • Hi Everyone!

I'm Jen, but my son calls me Ama (to everyone) so I've adopted the nickname AmaJen

    My weight story?

    Well, it's complicated.

I was never small, always overweight. Then I hit college...yiiiiikes, and left college at 240 (thank you, pizza buffet that was right across the street)

Then I got pregnant with my son a few months later, and since the hubby was in Iraq, I never watched what I ate! By time I had him, I was up to 290, and in 18 months, have let the weight stay on, and am riding at 280.

It's awful, and embarrassing. I am ready to be a fit, healthy mom, and never give our child a bad weight start in life, I need to eat healthy, and live healthy so that he grows up that way.

So, I'm here, on my 24th birthday (woohoo!), dedicating myself to losing 140 pounds. I want it, I need it, I'm ready for it!
  • Welcome! Now that you've made the decision to lose extra weight, you have a new you at your fingertips!
  • welcome and happy bday! you can do this!!!!!!! Dont let anymore time pass you by (that is what I tell myself) I wanna get fit for some of the same reasons you do....I wanna be able to do more with my daughter. We can all do this together
  • Thanks! I'm feeling encouraged, and like this will definitely be my year.. I agree completely, I just have to stop procrastinating!

Looking forward to "losing it" with you!
  • Welcome to 3FC and good luck with your goals.

    Hugs
    Michelle
  • Hi Ama Jen!
Sounds like you're ready to go - no looking back, just moving forward -the support you need is here - you can do this - and we'll all be here to cheer you on!

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained! There's also info and first hand advice on different eating plans and exercise to help you choose the right ones for you and get through the ups and downs.

There are bunches of people here with more to lose and some with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few months myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome - you 've found the right place - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
