What was that link to find out if you are small medium or large framed?

  • I'm curious because all my life I thought I was extra medium. or large, whatever you wanna call it. because I am so tall and have so much muscle.

but I tried wrapping my fingers around my wrist today and my thumb overlapped my middle finger up to the first knuckle. I'm not sure if this means I am actually small framed (gasp that means I need to lose an additional 15 lbs for my size /panic) or if I just have long fingers.

    Help?
  • Don't know the site, but most of us over estimate the size of our frame. Having a lot of muscle does not affect the size of your frame. Your frame is your skeletal structure. I always thought I was large framed but it turns out after I got the fat off I'm small.
  • Here's one calculator:

  • awww for some reason that link never works for me. It always aborts itself halfway through loading. Thank you though!
  • This one maybe.... http://www.dietandfitnesstoday.com/bodyFrame.php
  • I used to overestimate my frame size but now I've realized it doesn't really matter much. I used to have 'bony' 8 inch wrists. Now I have 'bony' 6 1/4 inch wrists. I also used to wear a size 12 ring, now I think I'm a size 7.
  • I just used this one:

I saw it mentioned on a thread a few days earlier. There was some discussion about how wrist size changes with weight loss. This one uses the distance between the major bones of the elbow.
  • I use the link Emma posted. I think that one and the one right above it (Pammy) are good calculators.

Same for me! I always said I had a large frame...turns out I'm small. Go figure...
  • Nelie's right- the wrist technique is silly for anyone who is overweight. There may not be much fat around the wrist, but there is fat there. Some people have more fat in that particular area than others (like me!), but it's there. As you lose weight your wrist will get smaller, in most cases.
  • thanks!! I can't believe every single site told me I'm small framed!
  • Am I the only person who gets a different result depending on the test?
  • Nope, I do, too. The second one says that I'm large framed. The first says medium. What makes it more obnoxious is that if you drop the inches by .01 on the second test, from what I actually input, it magically drops down to medium frame. Are you kidding me?

I'm not really worried about it at this point. I have quite a bit to lose. That and I'm not even sure I'm measuring the elbow part right cause I can't really see prominent bones when I bend my elbow to 90 degrees.
  • I have three prominent bones, one measurement makes me a giant, the other a midget.

I'm not sure why that's magical. It has go from large to medium at some point. You were just right at that point.
