Motivated Monday

  • Good morning from 22ºF Delta! This is ridiculously cold even for us Canuks! I guess we just need to suck it up and hope for an Indian summer in November.

I am off to the gym for 7:30 and then hope to get the rest of the planting done if the ground isn't frozen solid. I do have a breath of Spring on my kitchen table though - one of the very old peonies that survived the men and machines sent up some shoots and one of them was a blossom. I picked it last week and it has opened up and filled the kitchen with a lovely rose scent. Delightful!

Two weeks left in October! I can't believe how quickly time goes. We need to make use of every moment - not necessarily with work but with pleasant things like flower smelling, dog petting and reading. I took a "me" weekend and did just that so am raring to go this morning.

    How does your day look?
  • Good morning It's a balmy 29 here Ruth - come on down

Ruth - Bet that peony is lovely. My Mom was very distressed when her peonies were run over, repeatedly, by the the guys doing some drainage work at their house. I really hope they all come back in the spring.
You're commitment to the gym is really inspiring. I need to borrow some of that.

    Cottage - I know we are simul-posting

Lisa - It's the day You can do this!

It's Monday, not a lot more to say about that except I lack motivation. I do have a phone interview at 1:30 today so will WFH this afternoon. They must have lots of potential qualified applicants if they are starting with phone interviews.

    Happy Monday to all.
  • Sunshine is the word here for the next couple of days. We do have frost warnings, though.

My morning will be spent cleaning the house and running a few errands. I have to be at Cindy's by noon, and Audrey has cotillion after school. Maybe I"ll take Maggie over to the DE. Museum of Natural History in the meantime.

Good morning, Ruth and Cyndi! Cyndi, are you interviewing for a possible job change?
  • Good morning ladies. Well today was weigh-in day. I am down 5lbs. YAY!! Last week there wasn't much exercise due to weather and work but this week I am going to make a conscious effort to walk 2 miles a day. YAY I'm so excited.
  • It's even cold in Alabama! The weather guy says it's 30 degrees outside. The thermostat on my back porch says it's 38. Either way.... Brrr!

Ruth, Your peony sounds delightful! I have 9 red roses my hubby brought home for our anniversary smiling at me.

Cyndi, Only 5 more days to the weekend. Woohoo!!! You can do it!

Cottage, Auston would love the History Museum. I know you guys are going to have fun!

Silly, Congrats on your loss! WooHoo!!!

Me: Our District Attorney found out that I'm from Louisiana and asked if I can make gumbo. We'll, of course, I make the best gumbo this side of the Mississippi. He said that if I'd make it, he'd pay for it. So, for our Team Meeting tomorrow, I'm making seafood gumbo for 20. I hope he remembers that I told him it's expensive -- $82! I'm a bit nervous. I hope it turns out great.

Our therapist is back from her week long vacation today. We'll be seeing clients again. Our quiet-ish week last night was nice.

Hope everyone finds a warm spot to hang out today.
  • SillyFluff, that's awesome, congratulations.
A peony in October Ruth, very cool!
good luck with the interview Cyndi.
    Enjoy the museum cottage.
Detox for me too today, Lisa.
Your gumbo will certainly be delicious Chelby. It's nice of the DA to treat everyone.

I should walk this morning, but it's sooooo cold. I don't wanna!
Ready for another crazy week, I guess. Hope you are all well.
  • PMS + Day 1 Phase 1 + not allowed to eat or drink until after testing's done at 1:00pm + no caffeine til 1:00pm =

    Cyndi - Whoopee.

Updated my tickie and almost cried. I loathe my scale. I'm hoping that 20 lbs of that is water weight since I can't drink anything...... ha.

Gotta go. Glare. I'll post more later.

    Lisa
  • Good Morning Everyone

Geez...4 hours late for me this AM and I had alot to do before heading out to a busy day...but for me, any time I am able to sleep in it's a good thing. I need to leave here soon.

Bing is getting dropped off at the groomer to get the urine stained yellow hair taken off his lower body which should make everyone feel better. A quick stop at the grocery then I have an appointment with "The Coach" at his gym. I talked to him at the pool on Sat, and he said he'll "Whip me into shape". He hinted that DH is quite the bodybuilder and could help me. I explained that DH me didn't really work with our marriage.

Then to the pool for 2 water exercise classes before dealing with all the stuff I should have done yesterday.

Sorry everyone seems to be so chilly today. We have 50 and the tomatoes are still growing but DH said its changing soon.

Ruth, thanks for the "Peony Moment". I'm glad to here the ME weekend energized your battery.

Cyndi, tell us more, when you can. Best wishes!

Cottage, museum sounds great. Perfect for kids of any age.

Silly, Congrats on the weight loss and your exercise plan. I found that signing on for the October Exercise has really helped to keep me moving.

Chelby, gumbo sounds great! It sounds like a busy day at work.

Schmoodle, I hope your crazy week is manageable.

Lisa, what a way to start....get back on track and things will get better.

Hi everyone else. I'll check in later. I had a good weekend OP and look forward to the coming week, OP, of course.
  • Hiiiiiii. I'm a little happier since the test went quick and I'm allowed to eat now. My tummy feels better. Too late for caffeine so I may be sleepy but that just means I'll sleep well tonight.

    Have a great day girlies!!!!

    Lisa

Schmoodle, when it's cold I revert back to videos do not like exercising in the cold that's for sure.

    Have a great day
  • good afternoon, ladies!

wow, where did the morning go??

It is absolutely GORGEOUS out today. THIS is October in southwestern Wisconsin! Alas, the colors in the bluffs don't seem as bright to me this year. Probably because of the weather we've had. I am still thinking about trying to drive up to my favorite cemetary this week and snap some photos... the landscaping and trees are beautiful in October. We shall see. Today would be great but I have to pick up my roomies kiddos at school today.

I'm still on plan... ate a few extra almonds last night.. though I think it's because I missed some snacks/meals throughout the day. I think I ate 4x instead of 6 lol I just can't seem to eat if I'm not hungry. No problem though, I'll just not eat almonds today.

Still eatin the white chicken chili... the verdict is: good. Not great. I prefer the Wendys style Chili in the recipe phase 1 section. I'll make this again, but not as often as the above noted.

    Have a beachy day!
  • Cutting and pasting from my facebook status cuz I'm lazy:

No word on anything, but BP = 126/82, fever = right at 100, new dr. tried to stick me in the hip with a needle for 10 minutes before I threatened him with bodily harm, phlebotomist at Spfld Clinic blew my vein trying to collect 6 tubes of blood, and I'm starting a steroid.

I won't know anything about the tests until God knows when. I'll call my dr on Thurs since I know they won't call before that, and the specialist assured me that he will call me with my bloodwork results. My arm hurts, I'm hot, feel like a bruised pear from the tests this morning, and I want to go home.

    There's the update!!!
  • Dangit. I made some AMAZING meatballs tonight for myself for dinner...I guarentee I won't be able to duplicate that...Thats what I get for being italian and just dumping things in.

I basically made the meatballs and baked them until they were almost done.
Poured NSA spaghetti sauce and topped it with mozzarella cheese. I put that back in the oven and let it cook for a while longer until the cheese was good and brown. OMG it was delicious. I had 3 small sized meatballs (made small meatballs so that in my head 3 would look like ALOT) and a nice salad with lettuce, cucumber, turkey pepperoni (6 slices) and a sprinkle of RF cheddar. I have a happy belly.
  • i better not be getting the flu...

    ugh.
