Really disappointed in myself...

  • Hi everyone,
Well after months of denial I made myself get on the scales today and have discovered that I have gained back 95% of what I had lost in the past couple of years. I knew it was bad as most of my clothes do not fit me anymore and I had gotten rid of most of my bigger clothes. I cannot blame anyone else other than myself, but enough is enough I am ready to make a change, for good!
I am just looking for some support, and someone I can talk to who understands my frustrations. A friend (or friends) who I can talk to when I am having an off day and I can lend a ear (or eyes *LOL*) and help support them when they need it.
I would really appreciate the help as its going to be a struggle to get back to where I was but I am determined and will do it!
Thanks for reading my post, looking forward to hearing from everyone!
  • Hi and welcome (back?) to 3FC!

    Good luck with your goals

    Hugs
    Michelle
  • Hi, iluvfall! Me, too, by the way. What better time of the year to recommit to making a change for the good! I lost about 40 pounds over five years then gained them all back between August 2008 and August 2009. So now, I'm about six weeks into my recommittment and I can tell you the view from here is great! I've lost 10 pounds. I'm doing the tiniest amount of strength training and feel smaller at this weight than the last two times I was at it. I'm learning new skills and getting to know new people here on 3FC. Come on in, the water's fine!
  • I'm new here too, and I could pretty much just have copied and pasted your entire post as my intro. I was 220 back in 2005, and I dieted and exercised my way down to 183...which was great...well on my way down to my goal of 155. But then, somehow, inch by inch, pound by pound...I weigh 215 again.

Let's lose it...once and for all!!!!!
  • Thank you everyone for your posts, I love this site as it has such great people who support each other!
Michelle thank you for the welcome back!
Gardenerjoy congrats on the 10 pounds weight loss so far!! I used to love strength training it was my favourite part of working out. Now I just have to get my butt back into gear and get working out again!
Doubledomer, I completely hear you, well as you can see by my post
I am here to support you completely, we can do this!
  • I support you! You can do it!
  • to 3FC's from another Canadian -- lots of good people and great support here. Many of us have been where you are; we really do understand. Good luck on your renewed journey to good health ...
  • Welcome hun! You can do it! You came to the right place for support!
  • Oh, yeah - we've been there. I yo-yo dieted my way right back up to 215.

You can do this - again. You know what to do. You know what works.

And - coming back to 3FC regularly really does help!

    Glad you are back
  • Hi, iluvfall (me three! my favorite season!) - Oh, luv, I know so well the despair and disappointment you've been feeling - even down to having gotten rid of my "fat" clothes, then having little to wear when I ate my back up the scale again.

I lost 116 lbs. 7-8 years ago, gained it all back. Am now on my weigh down again.

Kick that despair and shame to the curb that you messed up and regained; it's just extra mental weight that sets you up to fail again, over and over.

We are all behind you, and we know you can succeed at this. Some days you'll sail through; some days you'll be hanging by a thread (at least that's the way it is for me), but we'll help you get through. The people on 3FC are so great!
  • welcome!!!!
  • Hi...welcome! I was in the same boat I lost about 80 lbs then gained 90...but I'm back on and focused...so you can do this!
  • Hi there i was in denial also for about 2years and gained back most of the weight i lost over 2 years but recently got back on the wagon and have started losing again and it feels great! Best of luck to you
  • iluvfall ~ I'm right here with ya. I lost 45 or 50 pounds last year and gained it all back. Now I'm recommitted and know that I can do it the right way this time! We are right around the same weight now, so let's do this together!
  • Hello and welcome back! I know how discouraging it is to gain weight back; I've been there myself. But, it is over and done. It happened. So, now it is time to move on. Don't spend another minute regretting what has happened; it is a waste of time and energy. You can do it!

I wish you the very best on your weight loss journey!

    Cheers,

    J
