  • Clydegirl... I'm sorry.... it stinks that someone has to lose...

  • I'm home

    Where did the offense go?

    Congrats to the Dodgers

It was a packed house there tonight. Good fun.

    I hate that it's over

Good luck everyone in your remaining games.
  • Congrats Gary and the Steamrollers - Ouch to Clydegirl and the Cardinals

The Nation is a little sensitive to hearing the S-word; I like the headline on the MLB site: 0-2 Been There, Won That. Keep the faith Sweetcaroline, da fat lady isn't on stage yet.

    .
  • Thanks everyone.

As all of us know ANYTHING can happen in baseball and it isn't over until BILL gives the command to the fat lady...exit stage right...

but seriously, I thought the Cards would win this series with the match-ups. Now, I also thought we have a decent chance in the others....we shall see....

We had a lot of people over last might, family and friends, for a BBQ. A very good friend of our family was back in town after 15 years for the week-end...like a brother to me....our house was excited with the game.

Sorry for the pain BIG BIRD...I have felt it many times...

but we keep coming back...great fun when we win!

Since my DODGERS are in I won't root so hard for the ANGELS....

Good luck today NATION and DIANE....
  • So today I'm going to the Rams game.

My youngest is 13 today and she wanted to go to a game for her birthday.

They're playing the Vikings and will lose again. But I get to watch Brett Favre.

Should be interesting my first NFL game.

Good luck Sox and Rockies today.

    Diane beat those Phillies.
  • So sorry Caroline and Bill.

Just got home from the Rams game. Pretty bad.

Baseball is more fun. For me anyway.
  • I think I'll just lay low here for a while....
  • I'm okay with the loss...
I feel so bad for our closer Jonathan Papelbon...
we had it, then it was gone... just not meant to be ....

    GO TWINS !!!

I want to see a LA versus LA World Series... (Diane's out of electricity range right ?) lol...
  • I hear her singing . . .
    I can hear her singing . . . didn't expect Carmen, LOL:

    Quote:

    it has never, ever, known a law;
    love me not, then I love you;
if I love you, you'd best beware!
  • Caroline that would be cool.

Gary wouldn't know who to cheer for.
  • Yes, young Bill, there is a fat lady...
  • Quote: .....

Gary wouldn't know who to cheer for.
    Oh not even...

I saw my first Angel games when they were the Los Angeles Angels in 1963 or '64...when I was 9 or 10 years old....back when they played in Dodger Stadium. I remember seeing Dean Chance pitch and that he was really something then.

I saw my first Dodger games the same years. Ron Fairly wore the same number, 6, that I did in Little League. Saw Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax pitch.

Maybe it was because the Dodgers were competitive then, winning the World Series over the Yankees and Twins and losing to the Orioles between '63-'66. Maybe it was because I was a kid and had a really cool pocket radio with an earphone and could listen to the World Series games...back when they were all day games....or maybe because my 5th grade teacher was a Dodger fan and she let us watch the game on TV in school....how cool was that?! I bet with those rabbit ears the reception was awesome...wink....

Always an Angel fan but could never pull for them over my Dodgers...nope...

It would be like taking the hottest girl in school (DODGERS) to the Senior Prom....or your junior sister (ANGELS)....she may be hot...but she's still your sister

It has been a fun week-end here for me. You just never know...the Cardianls and Red Sox were each just one out away from wins...with no one on base...frustrating game sometimes isn't it....

She is! I bet she didn't even get to see her Broncos win an exciting game today!
  • OT: ? lol...
One good thing to come out of the Red Sox early demise... My snacking will be back under control...
In April I'd have my usual 3 cups of 'bare' popcorn 3-4 times a week and strict limit of 2 beers a week. Today, at game time (noon), after breakfast and before lunch, I plopped myself down on the couch with a bag of 'baked' chips, and a big glass of diet soda... It felt so comfortable... scary comfortable... I'll be watching all of the games over the next couple of weeks... but my snacking will be in check !
  • Yay! Phillies win! Keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm super bummed the Twins got bumped - I like their team. Thought it would happen, but disappointed none the less.

On the other hand, the ex is a big Sox fan, so I still had something to smile about. We're still good friends, so you better believe there was some SERIOUS chirping going on! (Because isn't one the best part of sports fan-dom harassing your friends about their teams?)
