You have become the inspiration for a "non-junk food" challenge for 3 little boys aged 9-11 years. Almost a week ago I was reading one of your posts here at 3FC and my son and his 2 good friends walked by the computer and saw your (at the time) "One Month without Junkfood" quote in your siggy. My son ( who is slightly overweight and a junk food junkie) spouted off to his friends, (also overweight) that a month without junk food would be a breeze..."That would be a cinch" he says. The other 2 boys agreed. I told my son if he could make it to the first day of school, (about a month away) without a single bite of junk food I would give him $50. He took me up on the challenge. When his friends mom came to get them we told her about the challenge. They wanted to try it too...so the other 2 boys were offered the same challenge to them from their mom. We all sat and discussed what Junk-food was, (Pop, chips, candy, ice cream, etc.). Anyway, it has been several days and all the boys are still hanging in there but almost caved a few times. They have all admitted how HARD it is. One boy said, "I never noticed how much junk food there is!" Another one said, "I didn't realize how many chips I ate." SO, you have inspired 3 chubby little boys to give up Junk Food. You have made a difference! Thank you!!
That is so wonderful. Wow. Lori, let us know how it turns out.
Thinpossible, you must feel so marvelous reading this. That really is something.
