Back where I left off

  • I just checked the calendar. I am completing week 10 starting week 11 tomorrow. The good news is I am back where I left off. Many of you know that I lost most of my weight on my own over a period of 5 years. It was slow but going down. Then last November I got got care-less and the numbers started creeping back up. By May of this year I was back up at least 20#. I knew I had to do something or I was going all the way back-pushing 300.

I had perused 3FC a year ago when things were going well. This time I jumped right in. In 10 short weeks, I am back into new territory-212 was my lowest weight last year. As long as I stay vigilant, I will see 199 before the end of the year. At this point, I'm not really concerned as to when it happens because I now know as long as I stick OP it WILL happen.

The good news for me is that following South Beach has become second nature for me. If it's not on plan, I don't eat it.....and I don't crave anymore, so it's not a big deal. I am not hungry because I eat alot. At some point I will venture out, but there is no need to right now.

I appreciate all your support and try to tell you that every day. Losing weight by myself was not fun. Sitting next to my DH every night while he gobbled everything he could find and not gaining an ounce was not fun either. He is eating healthier, too. Although he isn't aware of the reason, he seems to not crave the junk like he used to.

Last, but not least, I am totally off BP medication. In fact, my readings were so low on meds, that I got concerned. Blood sugar is stable, too. That of itself is reason to keep going.

Thanks everyone for being here for me.
  • Debbie, I want you to know that YOU'VE been an inspiration for me! I love your attitude. You are such a positive soul. So, thank YOU for the support. And congratulations on your victory!
  • Debbie,

You are such an inspiration and a wonderful addition to this forum. I am amazed everytime I see your tracker how quickly it has gone down and I know you will succeed.
    take care
    Sophie
  • Debbie! With your positive attitude and patience, you'll be one of our success stories!
  • I love posts like this one! Keep it up, Debbie. You are already a success.
  • yay debbie!!-concur: ur story is inspiring
  • Debbie;

I just restarted last week, after far too much weight gained, and no motivation to try to change.

Your post is a good reminder to anyone starting over that with the right attitude, we can do it and succeed.

    Thank you for that !
  • Congratulations on your success on SB. I am thrilled that this plan is working so well for you. I agree on it being second nature after awhile. Ain't it great!
  • debbie, the fact that you can do it all on your own is a positive reinforcement for people like me who often get discouraged. but it's never too late to try again, YOU GO GIRL! i love a success story with a good attitude behind it. SBD is like second nature after a while-but don't ever hesitate to come for support! consider yourself like a 3FC role model - we all could use an empowering person to look up to and i think your quite there! good luck girly!!

  • Great work, Debbie! I'm thrilled for you and love your take on SBD and on staying OP and just working it without any pressure to get to a certain weight by a certain time. That's a recipe for success in my book!
  • day 3 phase 1 here and i love reading how you ladies have had success with the SB. very motivating.

awesome that you came off meds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I am just starting and hope I can do as well as you.
