Oh wow! Moments....

  • While losing weight, I think we all have those "Oh wow!" moments of discovery and triumph. Not only do these moments feed our sense of accomplishment, but I think they also are some of the little things that keep us going on our sometimes rocky and obstacle strewn weight loss path.

Last night, I was laying in bed and couldn't get comfortable for some reason. It felt like something hard was poking me or lodged under me on the side that I sleep on normally. After doing a quick check, I realized that it wasn't something hard trapped under me..... but actually my hipbone!

I had a "Oh my god... I have hipbones again!!!" moment.

    And it totally rocked.

So, I was just curious to hear of other people's "Oh wow!" moments.....
  • Something hard poking you, eh?? Sorry, couldn't help myself there!

Congrats on being reunited with your hipbones!!!!
  • haha That's horrible!

    And thanks!
  • I didn't lose that much yet, But,i noticed i was much more comfortable driving. The steering wheel wasn't laying on my stomach!

    OMG!!! I know the feeling!
  • Mine was when my jeans fit that hadn't fit in a while!!!! And yes the steering wheel thing is nice too!
  • The other day I was sitting with my legs crossed and realized that it was actually much more comfortable than I had remembered. My top leg was pretty much just hanging down instead of being forced out at an angle because of the thigh fat. I also noticed in the shower that my legs all the sudden are feeling not only trimmer, but firmer. I recently changed my walking route from 2 miles with one short (but steep) hill to 3.5 miles with a long, steady grade. I think it's helping!
  • I've noticed the last couple of days just how much I have lost. When looking in the mirror, I don't really see it because I look at myself every single day...you know what I mean?

But my laptop is on it's last leg so to speak, so I've been transferring pictures and videos and whatnot to an external hard drive just in case the battery gives out and doesn't turn back on. So, I've been looking through these pictures and I can't believe the difference from a couple years ago until now!!!
  • My first 8 lbs didn't seem like a lot to lose, but I happened to buy an 8lb dumbbell and I was like "wow, it kinda is, to just be hanging there on my body!"

Oh my god! I noticed that too! It's even easier to sit and pull them up to my body like I used when I was younger...... I LOVE it! Before, I'd feel like I had my air cut off if I tried to do that due to the leg and stomach fat getting in the way!
