Went rock climbing today...

  • ... for the first time since I got pregnant! It was actually much more successful than I thought it was going to be. I haven't climbed since the summer of '07 since I was pg during the summer of '08 (and rock climbing while pregnant just had "stupid" stamped on it, IMO.) I actually was able to climb almost to the level I was at before. We took the baby with us and he did great. He took his nap in his pack n play and then hung out with us while he was awake. I was able to nurse him at the climbing site so I didn't have to leave early, he was a champ today!

I'm excited that we're able to do this with a baby, I thought for sure that kids meant the end of my climbing career, such as it is. It was a bit of a pain to pack in all of his stuff along with our gear, but totally worth it! My uncle was right when he gave me the advice "Fit the baby into your life... if you want to camp, go camping! Your life isn't over because you have kids, you can still go out and do the things you enjoy."

I know this isn't necessarily weight related, but rock climbing is my strength training exercise of choice. I'm glad I don't have to stop!
