Cardio Questions- muscle burn v. fat burn + breakfast

  • I recently started working out in the mornings before work, and I since I"m not naturally an early riser, I usually only leave myself 45mins to do cardio. So, I end up pushing myself and generally being in my anarobic zone, 80-90% of max heart rate. I'm worried about my body using muscle for fuel instead of fat. Is there any advantage to having breakfast before I workout as opposed to after? Other advice?
