  • I have about 11lbs to get to Onderland but keep gaining and losing and I just can't seem to get there. Does anyone else have this problem?
  • I don't have this problem because I am no where near Onederland!

But I just wanted to throw my two cents in and tell you to keep going. The scale goes up, it goes down, it makes us crazy. But if you persist you will get to Onederland.

I'm sorry it's been so frustrating.
  • I've been there for 18 months
  • Quote: I have about 11lbs to get to Onderland but keep gaining and losing and I just can't seem to get there. Does anyone else have this problem?

been seesawing here awhile--saw 209 then back to 211..it's like groundhog day..I just want to not be in the 200's anymore...
  • Nowhere near it yet! Good luck!
  • it is totally frusturating.. I Can not wait till i get there.. And when i get there boy am i going to celebrate..

Best of luck to you!! You will be there soon, please dont give up or get discouraged??
  • i too don't have this problem cause i'm a good ways away from there ..... but don't let it fustrate you .... look how far you've came !
  • I did the same thing when i was about 213 and it took about 10days to lose another pound, then it started coming off again, just keep with it!!!
  • Is it the psychological effect of the 200lb mark? I had a mini freak out a 117kg, as it was the lowest I'd been in years, and started sabotaging myself. I just had to get my head round the fact that it was not scary to go lower. I was worried I'd have a similar freak out at 110kg, being a nice round number, but I just so happened to blast past it in about 2 days, so I didn't have time to freak. I am worried about 100kg. I'm going to have to try really hard not to get stuck there, as it'll be such a huge milestone for me.

This may not be the case for you, so I'll give the general plateau advice - change something. What you're doing now isn't working, so try something else. Eat less, eat more, change your fitness regime, eat more protein, drink more water. Don't get down, try to see it as a puzzle you have to figure out. There are a lot of threads around that talk about plateaus. In one of them I'm sure you'll find something that works

    Good luck
  • I've been hovering for months now. I got down to 195, but gained again. Now I'm up to 210! I'm serious now and working out every day, so hopefully it'll be gone in no time.
  • Consistency. Consistency. Consistency. If you want to get to ONEderland and beyond, that would be my advice. Track your calories really closely. PLAN out your meals/snacks ahead of time. And then stick to that plan like glue. LIKE GLUE. No diversions. MAke it your job. Your mission. Challenge yourself. Be creative Get excited thinking of the wonderful transformation you're making. Remember why you want this and then go out there and get it!!! It's yours. Your "this" close. You CAN absolutely without a doubt do this. And you should. Go for it! You won't be sorry.

  • Look at the reasons why you're stuck. I'm not saying there's no such thing as an honest plateau, but many times what we think are plateaus are actually us not tracking carefully, not getting enough fluid, not exercising, etc. For a few days, track every last morsel of food that goes into your mouth - even "just a bites." Change up your exercise routine. If you can tolerate it, plan more green salads in your meals.

    You can do this.
  • I'm one of those that can't relate because I'm so far from being there. But, I think that we put so much emphasis on the big numbers, that it makes it that much more frustrating!

Hang in there! I know you can do it!
  • You've gotten great advice already. For me the important thing was to just not give up. No matter how long it takes or how frustrating, just be determined to stick with the plan. The weight eventually will come off. Shaking things up a bit is a great thing too.
  • I'm not close to onederland BUT I had sort of the same problem with the 300 mark. It just HUNG and seemed to take forever to get there. If you are sticking 100% to your plan it WILL come off. And soon!!!
