Glycemic Index???

  • Is anyone doing this diet??? I started Sat. and lost 5 lbs.
I'm still leaernig this diet. Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

  • Hi, I am currently doing this diet and I can recommend it ! You can try google it ("Montignac diet" or "Michel Montignac" or "Low GI diet") it's very useful and tasty :-)

    Good luck!
  • I am just starting the GI/GL index woe for my pre-diabetes. This site/"Montignac diet" will be a great help. Thank you.
  • I am definitely new to the whole GI thing. I am amazed by my own experiences though. It's definitely something I am learning more and more about everyday. I think it GREATLY impacts my nutrition and choices.
  • I am also prediabetic and eating off a low GI plan. It's working for me--no more carb coma's! Better eating choices and far less 'cheating' because I'm not constantly craving and/or hungry.

Thanks for the site--I will check it out!
  • Thighs Be Gone and ANewCreation, thank you for answering.
But looking at this diet I'm confused. Do you go by the GL or the GI index?
Looking at the low GI Index I find M and M's. Now I know I shouldn't eat those.
So can either of you tell me exactly what you are doing?
Lower than 55 or 35 GI? and nothing else?
    I'm so confused.
  • Gee, I didn't know M & M's were low glycemic either. I think I need to get some book reading done soon. Although in some women's magazines, they allow some dark chocolate M & M's for one of the daily snacks. But you have to portion them out, and thereby lies the rub.
  • That's where the Glycemic LOAD comes in. It is about the portion.

    Hi friend...
  • I just ordered 3 books on this diet, glad to see there are others here using it.
  • Glycemic Load Diet is superb, specifically if you are insulin resistant, pre-diabetic, or diabetic. I have no more fluctuations in energy and mood, don't feel hungry, and my tummy issues have gone away. I'm losing weight, too.
