I made my own rice milk!

    Well, that was pretty easy!

    I try not to drink cow's milk and usually buy Rice Dream. It's $3 for 1 liter and I thought -- hmmm...maybe I should try making my own.

    So I cooked up a batch of brown rice (really mushy), added a little salt, water and sugar, blended it up, and strained it through a cheesecloth.

    Voila! My own rice milk. It tastes ALMOST like the Rice Dream. I am going to have to experiment with sweeteners and maybe add some vanilla extract next time to get it perfect.

    I'm so proud of myself! I feel like such a hippy lol

    No, cause I can't remember how much I paid for the rice. But I used 1 cup of rice for 1 liter of rice milk. Definitely not $3!!
