  • Hi dys24. I'll be a buddie.. what's ttc stand for ? (trying to conceive?)

I'm trying to get pregnant. Well, now I want to lose weight first. I was diagnosed with PCOS a couple years ago. I have been on metformin for a couple months now. I have been going through the many tests to try and determine whats wrong with me. My doc wants me to try clomid.. but I'm holding off on that one until I get under 200lbs. Recently I had an HSG and ultrasound which shown my polycystic ovaries as well as uterine polyps. I'm going to have the polyps removed sometime next month.

But, I'm like you. I want to take a break from really trying hard to get pregnant and focus on getting healthy first. I do not want to end up with diabetes. That's great you have lost so much weight. I hope to be in your shoes soon!
  • Hi!!!!!

Welcome, I'm so glad you joined Neesy Yes TTC stands for trying to conceive ... How old are you? I'm 24 from CT ... thats great to find someone else who's going thru the same thing, I'm sure we will be able to help one another if we have any PCOS questions (I feel like I'm a pro now hehe ) I just went thru all those test too!!! PCOS SUCKS!! LOL I hope your HSG came back normal I had mine done about 3 months ago I was so relieved that it was ok but scared to death to do it but at the end it wasnt that bad. I'm sorry for the polyps but I'm glad you'r taking care of them and removing them hopefully in a month we can write bye bye polyps Its great that you'r taking care of your health first, you know I wish I had done that before jumping into IVF, but on the other end I learned so much from it and I'm more motivated now then I ever was. I'm seeing my endo. tomorrow to discuss by failed IVF and other options I have i think I might go on Clomid once again or will do injectables they work wonders on PCOS women . He also put me on metformin which is working wonders with my weight. Thanks again for writing back and I wish you lots of luck on your weight loss and of course lots and lots of baby dust!!!!! By the way how do you put the weight loss countdown on your signature? mine doesnt seem to work urghhhhhhhh!!!
  • Hey dys, What's your name by the way? I'm Denise. I'm 23. I found this stuff about the weight loss signatures. I'm gonna copy and paste it below:

How to add the weight-tracker code to your signature

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: NEW MEMBERS cannot add signatures.

We are frequently asked how to get the weight-tracker code into your signature. Maybe this will help

    1. Open two browser windows. In the first window, go to your forums UserCP and click "edit signature" from the menu at right. In the second window, go to www.3fatchicks.com/weight-tracker/

    2. Follow the instructions on the weight-tracker page to make your tracker.

    3. Now that you have made your weight-tracker, choose the code that you need to copy. There are three versions of the code, depending on where you plan to use it. You need the FIRST version for our forum.

    3. Highlight then copy the code.
Click inside the box of code. With some browsers, just clicking it once will highlight it (turn it all gray). OR
Take your mouse, and place your cursor at the beginning of the text in the box, then click and hold the left mouse button, while dragging your mouse over the text. This should highlight the text. Now release the left mouse button. OR
Right click in the box so you get a small popup menu, and select "select all" from that menu
(We suggest the last method - right click and select all - because we've noticed that some people don't click and drag the full code, so their trackers don't work)

    4. Now that the code is highlighted, you must copy it. Hold the mouse over the highlighted code, right click your mouse so you get the little popup menu and choose "copy" from the menu.

5 Now go to your other window where your signature box awaits. Hold your mouse over the signature box and right click your mouse. Choose "paste" from the little popup menu. If you don't see "paste" in the menu, that means you did not copy the code and must go back and try again.

Scroll down and click "save signature".

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so now you've lost weight and want to update your weight tracker. What do you do? There are two ways you can go about it.

    1. Start with step one as above. Delete the old code from your signature box, and paste the new code in its place.

How do you delete the old code?
Take your mouse, and place your cursor at the beginning of the text in the box, then click and hold the left mouse button, while dragging your mouse over the text. This should highlight the text. Now click the "delete" button on your keyboard. OR
Use your delete or backspace button to delete the code one character at a time.

Now paste the new code in the signature box, and click the "save signature" button.

    OR

    2. Edit your signature tracker code. You can keep the same images without having to make a new code, and just update your weight.
Look at your code and you will see three numbers that represent your Starting weight, Goal weight, and Current weight. The last number is your current weight and is the only one you need to change.
Change the current weight to your NEW current weight. Make sure you don't change anything else, or you may have to go make a new tracker. Now save your signature.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATE: We only allow signature weight tracking tickers from our own 3FC weight trackers, or from Ticker Factory. Any other tickers may be removed at moderator discretion. This includes weight trackers from other diet sites that are using them as an advertisement tool, since this is against our rule against forum advertising. Thanks

Good luck with everything! I have to go to work. I'm late, otherwise this would be longer. I'll talk to you soon=)
  • Oh hey, I see that you've lost a lot of weight so far. What has your plan been? I think I've tried everything.. but for now I'm sticking with calorie counting.. and just getting rid of fast food. My husband wants me to get pregnant NOW. He is so baby crazy. But, I feel like.. if I don't lose weight now.. then I never will. I have to stick with it all the way through this time. Oh.. and he wants me to do the clomid because of the possibility of multiples. He's crazy!!! I'm sorry to hear that IVF and clomid hasn't worked out for you.. but we're still young. Something has to work. I'm pullin for you=)
  • Hi Denise, my name is Edith thank you for the info on sig. i think i cannot do it because i'm a new member because it says new members cant add signatures thats silly!! but anyway I have been on a carb free diet /low-carb diet. My doc said thats the only diet that works for PCOS since we'r insulin resistance and it really does work I tried low calorie diet and my weight would come off but very slowly so i gave atkins a try and my weight was flying of (of course with exercise). Clomid didnt work because i wasnt taking metformin or dieting so now that i started taking it I'm going to give it a try again. I'm going to see my doc today so we'll see what he says. I understand your husband being anxious for a baby mine is the same way but after he saw what i went thru with ivf now he's more relaxed and just wants me to get healthy first. Do you have regular periods? clomid works great if you have reg periods my problem is i dont have reg period. ok have to go to see doc. talk to you later!!!
  • Hi Edith-Nice to meet you=)

I should really do a low carb diet... it's my weakness. I love bread so much. I don't have periods at all. I have never had a period on my own. I take Provera for ten days.. then a week later I have a period. I just found out that my surgery (to have my polyps removed) will be February 16th. I was hoping that it would be sooner. I just want to get it over with and get them out of my body. Oh well.. it'll happen. My dad is having surgery on the same day. He's getting the lap band. I really wanted to be with him. It's weird that it worked out this way.
Well, my new goal is to lose 15-20lbs by the time my surgery rolls around. I have to hit the gym. I've been really lazy lately. I work 12hr shifts, then come home and go right to sleep. I don't eat at work because I'm usually so busy, then 24-36hrs will go by and I'll realize that I haven't eaten anything. I need to stop doing this. I don't even mean to do it. It just happens. Sorry for just rambling on.. Anyway, let me know how it goes with your doctor.
  • Its great to meet you to Denise, it seems like we have so much in common!!! I love bread too but i try to keep away as much as possible I found this great low-carb bread from pepperidgefarm, it only has like 5g of carbs per slice. Its really gummy though so i toast it before eating it (really makes a difference). You know Feb 16th isnt that bad Christmas will pass fast and new years next thing you know it will be middle on January try not think think about it too much and time will fly. Its funny because i've been really lazy too, I lost only 1lb for this week because i didnt exercise at all and ate whatever i wanted because of all the christmas parties at work urghhhhhhh Your schedule is though thou hard to implement any diet with that kind of schedule but I'm sure you can work something out. If you need any tips for good low-carb stuff just let me know I'm here for you. So my docs appointment went great, he thought my IVF cycle was perfect and said that my two little beans were perfect when put back but he said its up to god if they implant or not and i guess it just wasnt my time this time around, but he said I responded excellent and all my blood work was excellent, he wanted me to satrt another ivf but i cant afford it now since i had to pay the 1st one out of pocket (my insurance doesnt cover any ivf) so for now i will do monitored injectables and regular intercourse and pray for a miracle. If that doesnt work i will do ivf again probably in april so we will see. Other than that he praised me for my weight loss so far and i think I'm starting to ovulate on my own from metformin i just had a + on OPK!!!!! i was soooo excited yesterday... so we'll see, Dont feel bad about rambling i'm doing the same thing to you hehehe I'm here for you if you ever need any help.. BTW you'r doing great on your weightloss too keep it up!!!
  • BTW Anyone else wants to join us??

I know there's more PCOS women who come on this site, but it seems so quiet.

I hope someone else can join us!!!!!

    Happy holidays to everyone!!!!
  • I am new and yes I have PCOS.

    Was diagnosed at 21.
I am now 28. Not actively trying to conceive as I want to lose at least 30 pounds first.
  • Amywah welcome!!! I'm so glad you joined us, i think both me and Denise want to lose weight first before trying so now we'r all three alike I just wanted to find buddies alike that go thru same things everyday with PCOS combined with weight loss and/or trying to concieve. Feel free to ask any Questions, answers, vent or just chat we'r here for ya
  • I wanted to start a weekly or every other week update on CW/GW for everyone on this board are you girls up for that? Let me know! Hopefully we'll have more ladies join!!!
  • What's that stand for?
  • Oh by the way, I started my period yesterday. I have NEVER had a period on my own without the help of medication. Even when I was lighter and younger. I never had one. So.. I don't know whats going on with my body. So Weird.
  • Thats great Denise!!! My body does the same thing if i go on a diet i get my period, its because you'r lowering your insulin, and since most pcos women are insulin resistance which messes up your hormone levels which prevents you from ovulating we dont get regular periods. Now as soon as you start to diet the hormones kind of level off and your body begins ovulating. So thats great to hear!!! As for me, I've been slacking off on my diet too many xmas parties too much food!! i didnt gain any weight which is great I guess metformin is doing its part but i wanted to be in the 180's by New Years... Maybe i can still do it CW/GW means current weight and goal weight... I'm hoping someone else will join us so we can do updates...
