dreading christmas

  • is anyone else dreading christmas already?....
its not so much the time of year, but all the food mums purchased/purchasing for the house....
in october shes already showed me a carrier bag full of sweets & chocolates & biscuits she purchased for use....
thats without all the cake she makes and the puddings she makes....
and the big dinners she makes christmas day and boxing day....
it really is going to be a huge test....
and quite honestly im scared to even think about it!!....

hehe, i might move out for the holidays!....
  • nope, im looking forward to it I love christmas, the special food is part of it. This year i wont be stuffing myself with everything and eating all my chocolate gifts within 2 days, but i will definately be having little bits of everything. It'll probably go over my calorie count and i'll probably gain back a couple of pounds. But its once a year and nothing's irreversible
  • we don't celebrate Christmas but i tend to dread this season cause it's the time everyone puts on a little weight hibernating inside
  • Quote: we don't celebrate Christmas but i tend to dread this season cause it's the time everyone puts on a little weight hibernating inside
unless you're lucky and get to celebrate it in summer
  • im going to be working out every day - except christmas day....
and trying not to over indulge too much....
    guna be a hard task....
few more lbs to loose before then too....
  • I lost weight last xmas so I'm really not too worries to be honast. I know I can resist the bad foods. The only thing I'll be tempted by are mince pies, but the best thing to do is just allow yourself to enjoy it
  • Christmas is my most favorite holiday of the year! For me and my family, it is very special. Yes, there is a lot of GOOD food, really bad for you GOOD food. However, I know I can have a little bt of everything and still be okay. Plus, I am completely fine with a chilly winter walk!
  • I loooove Christmas. Thankfully this year I'm spending Christmas in Jamaica. I'm not worried about food this year, mostly because I KNOW we won't be having turkey, stuffing or pumpkin pie, what I'd normally have here.
  • I love Christmas dinner! Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner are my two most looked forward to meals of the year!

thanksgiving is coming up here in Canada (different date than U.S.) and soo I will try not to go crazy with the food, but I do love stuffing, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravey, etc., etc., I think it's the combination of all that food together.

Also, I am a teacher and the Staff room around Christmas is horendous! So many baked treats, and like everyday a new batch comes in. I must remind myself to stay away from the staff room during December!
  • I'm dreading Halloween and thanksgiving as well!
  • I'm actually looking forward to it. For a few reasons- to see the family that hasn't seen me since I was A LOT heavier!! And, I have a fantastical jump start on a New Year's resolution to lose weight!! so, bring 'em on. I have the training by now to learn how to deal and manage.

it's the being lonely and not having money for them part that I am dreading the most:-(
  • I can manage every other time of year....
this will be my first christmas dedicated to weight loss/maintenance....
so im a bit weary but i guess as long as i keep the mind set and dont drink any alcohol....
    i shud be ok....
  • My family eats pretty healthy even around the holidays, lots of sugar-free pies and veggie trays. Luckily I never have to worry about that, but this year I'm headed to Cali over Thanksgiving with the bf's family and they.. EAT. Thats what I'm worried about.. and being in an area where its not exactly safe to go on a walk. Guess I'll just have to go to the beach!
