I'm a newbie here...

  • Hi everyone. I'm 28, 5'7 and weigh between 152 lbs and 150lbs, depending on what day of the month is it. I used to weigh 250lbs, but due to a lot of medical problems I had to get the weight off and fast.

No, I didn't go in for "work". Actually, my doctor told me that if I didn't start eating right, I was going to have a heart attack or stroke and die before I hit 30. I was also very depressed, taking anti-depressants, and have a kid.

It was a shock to hear that my choloestorol was 375 and that I was having many heart problems, as well as I couldn't breathe very well. I was hard, but I did it. Believe it or not, it really wasn't that hard to do.

I stopped eating fast food, which was really hard for me to do because it was convienent, and it was quick. Having a kid, yeah I had to run around with him a lot, but nothing I did seemed to help with the weight so I just stopped trying. I also stopped taking the anti-depressants, which really seemed to help me a lot. Some anti-depressants can cause weight gain. And I started exercising whenever I could. I walked places instead of taking the car, I started riding my bike with my son in one of those carriers that goes behind the bike, and I just started to feel better about myself.

Now, I am having problems with the last 10 or 20 lbs, but that's okay. My cholestorol is still really high though, however, that part is in my genes so it's not something that can be regulated very easily.

I'm looking better than I have in years, and my son is also seeing a difference in my energy level as well! It's really great to have all of you supporting each other. That's the one thing that I didn't have until now...so thank you ahead of time, and I look forward to hearing from you!!!
