  • OK here goes ~

I started my "journey of better choices" on July 23rd, 2007. I was adding some of my totals up for the year and I see that 365 days ends on Monday night...not Tuesday night like I thought. Confused as always, my smart wife Angie clues me in on Leap Year and explains I should know these things since I am a Feb. 27th baby and came oh so close....

Anyway, the way I look at it I have an extra day to play with...or not.

Do I stop my year at 365 days on Monday July 21st at mid-night or do I go to Tuesday July 22 at mid-night? What about that extra day if I carry it over?

Do I just see how I end up on the weight each day? If I take the good day is it cheating? If I say I'll take Monday then do I have the Leap Year right to change my mind? I am so

Oh woe is me...what do I do?

    IT'S A HARD KNOCK LIFE!
  • Take the good day - regardless if it is Monday or Tuesday. Life's too short to stress about one day, Gary!

And - congrats on your progress this year - it has been a good year indeed!
  • Well - one day out of 365 (or 366 LOL) is really only 0.003 percent of your total. Pretty insignificant either way.
  • Take the day when you did not drink an entire six-pack.

Otherwise, I would not worry about it. Or, to make it perfectly legal, you can the mathematical average of your weight on those two days. (But really, you have worked hard the entire year so you deserve to take the better day).

I hope your sexy wife is going to treat you to a nice anniversary !

Thanks for permission to plan a possible cheat SCOOTER!

Not that good at math LORI but that % looks like what I have left of my paycheck after taxes ...and my party is in the big house!

And just what day would that be?

I'm not sure if she knows I'm 25+ pounds lighter...she hasn't let me in the house all year.FRIEDGREEN!
  • I say go to midnight Tuesday 22nd it's a year.

Yes there is an extra day because of the leap year but it's still a year

So, let me get this straight BIG BIRD...there is NO WAY you are going to allow me to take that extra "BONUS" day and work it to my advantage for my totals this year OR next year if I choose...not even if I want to use it as A JOKER? What if I called "JOKERS WILD before my "journey" started but no one heard it...does that count? Man, these weight loss rules are difficult...no wonder we give up so easily!

That's what I said use it. Did I confuse you ?

    Give up never.
  • If your Dodgers win on the 21st, go with that, if they lose, go with the 22nd. If they win both games, add the number of runs subtract the number of pounds you lost since the season started, divide by Joe Torre's age and wa-lah...
Happy Anniversary ! your journey has been significant no matter what day you chose...what are you going to do next year ?

ANGIE would like me to work on my better communicating and listening skills

Would Angie say you listen or do you 'wait' to talk ? (see my sig)
  • Evidently, I don't hear anything she says.....
  • lol I started on July 21, 07 and didnt even realize the problem of the extra day until I read this thread. I'm taking the extra day!

edit. wait. it's the 22nd already. ... problem solved
  • Well we can all rest easy now

I solved the problem, that is I should say the scale solved it for me.

I weighed in this morning at 170.4 and since today is the final weigh in of my first "journey of better choices" year, I will take it!

    FOUR reasons why ~

#1 ~ Since today is the final day and Angie has a full day of training from 8am to 6pm, we decided to go out to dinner. We are going to an Italian restaurant.

Now going to this restaurant will bring back memories and add memories to our marraige. Tonight it will be a celebration for my "journey"...dinner at a new place for us....however...

we had an old place, another Italian restaurant on the coast, owned by the same owner, that brings back another memory of me being a smoker

But that is another story...maybe I will start a thread on that in General Chatter another day.

#2 ~ Since I weighed in at a good number today for me...I want to keep it as my final number! I am a bit selfish Plus it gives me a new goal...to end in the 60's next year ...now I did get to 169 this year but only for 4 days total.

#3 ~ Yesterday I weighed in at 171...today's was better!

#4 ~ I may weigh in MORE tomorrow after my celebration dinner tonight!

    DILEMA OVER
  • Whew I'm glad we got that sorted

The fact that you're having italian tonight you will be up tomorrow but it won't be for long.

Are you going to have a beer seeing as it's a special occasion?

Enjoy the evening, good food and good company.
