What music gets you pumped for a workout?

  • I have trouble with this. I need more good workout music. What do you guys like?
  • I like "pump up the jam" by Technotronics. I think there are lots of versions of it, but the dance one which is more "pumpy" is the one i like. It really gets me in the mood for some weight lifting
  • I have very eclectic taste in music, but here's a bit of it:

    Twilight Zone---Golden Earring
    GoldDigger---Kanye
    Fergalicious--Fergie
    Pressure--Billy Joel
    Sexyback--Justin Timberlake
    Hips Don't Lie--Shakira
    Crazy--Gnarles Barkley

  • Although I have to turn the treadmill down slower to step to the beat, there are a few songs that keep me on it. Queen's Another One Bites the Dust, Layla ... and I'm drawing a blank

I've got some Chili Peppers ....

I'll post some more after I hear them today.
  • I also loved the soundtrack to Rocky Horror Picture show LOL Got me to lose my first 35 lbs.
  • I don't really workout, but my eight-year-old daughter and I love to get up and "dance." We are mainly country music fans, so most of the time it's country.

We get up and do our version of a two-step to Josh Turner's "Your Man," or Brooks and Dunn's "Boot Scootin' Boogie" and do out version off line-dancing to Trace Adkins' "Honky Tonk Bodonkadonk," or Alan Jackson's new one, "Good Time." The one song of Trace Adkins that always makes me want to get up and move someway is his song "This Ain't No Thinkin' Thing."

My daughter just loves to dance with me to the Backstreet Boys.

I recently introduced her to the 80's stuff I listened to as a teenager, and have been teaching her some of the dances we used to do, so I guess I am working out, just not in the "real excercise" (as she describes it) kind of way.

  • Middle of Nowhere by Hot Hot Heat -and- the Smash Mouth I'm a Believer are just right for treadmill jogging at 4.2 mph.
  • My MP3 Player
What I use for street jogging 7 mph I liked how SusanB put that in context because speed and location REALLY makes a difference for me. If I am doing a slower routine, I don't listen to faster music.
