Trust me, I know how you feel. A couple of weeks ago our puppy died (offspring of our female). He was only three months old but still......I got really attached to him. I was there for his birth and I was the sole care taker. He had parvo and didn't survive. I was depressed for about a week and a half. It's funny how we get so attached to dogs and certain animals. They are family.....like our own children. I don't know what to say to make you feel better but like my hubby said, "He's now in doggy heaven." Good luck to you.

**lump in my throat** I had to say goodbye to my Bourbon not too long ago, I'm barely getting over it now! UGH my heart goes out to you, it's so sad and painful

It sounds silly but the best thing I heard was my friend's little girl, about 7, saying "bourbon's in heaven now and it's big fields for him to run around in and never be tied to a leash" it was so sweet and made me feel better.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. This is the hard part of being a pet owner but as hard as today is it does not offset all the wonderful days you got to have with him.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm so very sorry. Things will get better but you will mourn your furbaby for a long time and see him out of the corner of your eye. Believe me, I know - I still weep when I think of my dear Lucy who has been gone since last September.
