Carol - i am tired sitting here and just reading what you have to do!!

I am freeling a lot better with the cold etc and now am miserable with the 'hay ' fever which has really kicked off big style now all the Magnolias, blossom trees, etc are in full bloom!! Also my slipped disc has given me the warning 'judder' so I am floating on voltarol and co-drydamol at the moment.............stiull it will be a relaxing weekend as I have been ordered to lie down and rest (I have sneaked on here while everyone is out ssshhhh!)
heres hoping I can swim on Monday as the lack of exercise isn't going to aid the weight loss and I feel my appetite is back with a vengeance .

  • Happy Mother's Day!

I just got a mauve fluffy card with a rhyme about how my daughter would like to be a slug to slither up my sleeve and be close to me - an enormous bunch of daffs (my favourite) - another HUGE bag of jelly babies!! Oh dear!!!

Its a really nice day here - bright and sunny but VERY cold! Next door started work on there house at 8am - that is every day for the last three weeks they have started at 7am Mon-Sat and 8am on Sundays. Not a good way to impress your new neighbours!

Well done Jano's son!!!!!! I never win anything!!!
  • Good morning everyone

Happy Mothers Day ...yes we all deserve to be spoiled today don't we

my idea was a nice long lie in bed this morning, my son had other ideas tho, at 8am he was forcing my eyelids open and telling me to wake up to open my present. My computer has started giving me some problems again, it just keeps freezing up for no apparent reason and I figure it is either something to do with one of the settings I haven't got quite right since I reformatted it or it is maybe overheating, I was up until 4am this morning trying to figure out what was wrong, so when my eyelids were being pryed apart at 8am I was not in much of a fit state...
Today I am going to take the plunge an take my computer to pieces and give it a good clean up inside, dust all the fans down if it is an over heating problem it could just be that things have gotten a little dusty inside and that could maybe sort things out for me...well its worth a try

Well its now just past 9.30 am and even tho its mothers day and the day I am supposed to have everything done for me, hubby is working until 7pm this evening and my son hasn't learned how to use the washing machine and iron yet ( he is almost 13 now I think its time I taught him )so I suppose I should make a move and get the laundry started or he will be off to school tomorrow in last weeks dirty uniform.....hehehe...me looking for household jobs to do today of all days...can you tell I'm not really looking forward to sorting my computer out

Oh I almost forgot, yesterday I was looking through some old photographs and I found another one of me when I was at my heaviest weight, those photographs a very few and far between, I was an expert at avoiding the camera,I hated having my picture taken, but now I wish I had them taken a bit more often, it is a real boost for me to be able to look back and see how I really looked then and compare them to how I look now, anyway I scanned it and put it on my webpage along with the photograph I got back from the wedding, no prizes for guessing which one I like the most

Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy today

    Ali
  • Ali, I expect you already know about this - but have you tried de-fraging your computer? Mine used to lock up a lot until I was told it needed regular de-fraging.
  • OK Veggie we have the snow now.

had to force Ray out of bed this morning to make tea & toast. The boys make great toast if you don't mind half the margarine tub on each slice. The only time I eat marg is on toast & even them I scrape it on & scrape half of it back off. Well my lovely boys got me a butterfly brooch for Mothers Day, much better than the box of roses their dad was going to get me. Sean wrote in his card that I'm a 'groovy mum' think I'll take that as a compliment.

We are going to a birthday party in Dundee today, thats about 60 mile north from my house. I was going myself with the boys, but am now trying to play the weak woman and get Ray to drive. I know the main roads will probably be clear but am a chicken :sheep: (closest I could get to a chicken & then I couldn't make my mnd up)

Even though ir's mothers day I too have a pile of washing today, no rest for the wicked.

The eating went to pot yesterday, no excuses today, birthday party or no birthday party.

    Carol
  • Ha Ha Ha Ha!!
No 1 son has just given me a lovely card, inside is a £20.00 note out of his winnings last night, with a speach bubble coming from the queens mouth

"with compliments of The Midlands Wheel Club"
    (the casino)

How the **** am I going to pass that over the counter.... anybody got any tippex?????

    Jan
