  • Here is a challenge that was started by Angie last year or so. It ran for weeks then slowly dwindled, Jane suggested this challenge and I think this is a great one to restart. This challenge will start on each Monday provided we have interested gals.

    Here is what it's all about:


    The rules are simple... you get to earn 4 points per day, that is a total of 28 points per week. If you get 25 points or more, give yourself a reward. It doesn't have to be big, a new lipstick, pocket book, a pedicure, or time for you, just you.

    You can earn 1 point for drinking all your water , 1 point for eating clean , 1 point for your workout , and 1 point for doing what ever you forget or avoid. ie: taking your vitamins, or tracking all your food intake ...this is something you can decide.

    At the end of the week tally up your points. Make this fun, and remember you do deserve a reward...

    • Walking/jogging
    • Taking vitamin
    • 30oz of water
    • Veggie intake

    I've been lacking in the water and veggies and heck...even my vitamins! Maybe this will help me get on track.
  • Hi Marti,

    I'll be on vacation for a week starting Tuesday, but I still want to be in the challenge this week anyway. So my plan for each day is

    * Drink at least 64 oz of water
    * Eat healthy foods and only when hungry
    * Stop eating when satisfied; not stuffed
    * Take my vitamins
    * Move around and be active

    Hopefully by being in the challenge I will be able to stay OP while on vacation.

    Thank you, Marti, for restarting this for the Jaded Ladies - we all thank you, lol.

    I've been having a horrible time avoiding salty, crunchy snacks such as Cheetos, chips, etc. Since I don't keep them in the house, I've gone like a zombie several times in the past few weeks, and bought them. And ate them like there was no tomorrow. There are NONE in the house at this time, and it really will be a challenge for me to NOT bring some home.

    My 4 challenges are:
    1) NO chips of any sort.
    2) Eat some protein at every meal. I feel so much better when I do.
    3) Stay within my points/calorie limit.
    4) Move more - weather it's working in the yard, playing with the grandkids, or something else that gets me moving.

    Today I've done great with these... but the day ain't over yet, lol, so I won't count my points until tomorrow.

  • Great post idea! I have recently started my weight loss journey (like today) and I am looking for motivators. This seems to be a great one! My points:

    *No binging
    *Work out
    *Food journal
    *Water

    I got my 4 points for yesterday. Today's food is all planned out, and my exercise will be the WAYW video. I feel strong about not buying any sort of chips, but I had Neal promise that if I did, he'd take them away and get rid of them. Just thinking that he'd do that is enough to keep me clean, lol. Sometimes it takes a village, right?

    How did you others do yesterday?

    No veggies'! Shame on me.

    Today:
    • Walking/Jogging
    • Vitamin
    • 30oz water
    • No vending machine food!

    This seems to help me keep accountable, so this challenge is good for me.

  • OK ladies! I meant to check this out yesterday, but because of the ear I didn't do anything. Feeling much better today. I will start today goals for the week:

    *Drink 64oz water
    *Get some movement for an hour (i.e. gym/yard work)
    *eat clean and track everyday
    *take my med before bed (I forget more often than not!!!)

    OK here is good luck to us all!!!!
  • Marti, I forgot we could change it from day to day. I think I'll go ahead and stay with the same thing each day this week, though. About your veggies.... do you like any of them? How about celery? I buy Laughing Cow lite cheese wedges in cream cheese flavor and also french onion flavor and spread a wedge on celery when I want some crunch.

    Today is so far, so good for me, but I'll let you know tomorrow.

    I made a chart to keep track of my "points" for this challenge. Today I did pretty well. I am going to try and check in here daily, just to keep myself accountable. Hope you all don't mind.
  • Ya know what Jane...I think maybe you're right.
    Plus, it would be easier to keep track. So I'll stick w/the first original 4 I had and tally up the total on Sunday.

    Today I got 3.

    I forgot my vitamin!!!

    So my total so far is: 6.

    Marti - later yesterday, after I posted my message to you, I remembered that you and James roast/grill veggies, so not sure why I asked you that, lol.

    Ellen and Trish - how's it going?

    I get 3 points for yesterday. Instead of doing the exercise video, I took a walk with Neal. It was a meandering, leisurely walk, and really doesn't count as exercise. So my total so far is 7 points.
