Hello!

  • Hello ladies,
My name is Lisa, and I am 43. The encouragement and support you offer each other on this site is wonderful! I look forward to getting to know you! I was a member on this site last year and lost 5 pounds, but the weight came back and now my clothes are now too tight. My goal is to lose 10 pounds in order to be in a healthy BMI range, and if that works an additional 10 pounds would make me ecstatic! I am so tired of thinking about losing weight, it seems to consume my thoughts daily and that frustrates me. Its time to do something about it! I want to live with positive thoughts and stop worrying about my weight.

I am good about exercising, but could eat more healthy. Snacking & picking are an issue for me. Oh- water, too. I'm so bad about drinking water. I look forward to this journey and sharing the ups and downs of losing weight down with ladies who are going through the same. Thanks to you all!

    Warmly, Lisa
  • Welcome Lisa!

  • Hey Lisa!

Have you found our Featherweights forum yet? You might want to check it out - it has a lot of people who have less to lose than others may on the board, and I think it would be a good fit for you.

Otherwise, find a spot, settle in, and get to posting wherever you feel comfortable. Can't wait to get to know you better!
  • Lisa, welcome back!

I had a really hard time, myself, with drinking water, at first. I started with one 20 oz bottle that I would keep in the fridge, and my goal was just to drink that one bottle before the end of the day. I've found that I like the taste a LOT better when the water is cold! After a while, the 20 oz bottle wasn't enough, so I added another, and another. Now, I'm drinking 3 to 4 of those 20 oz bottles of water. Perhaps that will give you an idea that will work for you?

    Good luck!

    Cheryl
  • Hi there Lisa...welcome to the community.

As for water, would you drink flavored water? Maybe you can try adding Crystal Light powdered flavors to the water available in pretty much all grocery stores without adding too much calories. Also there's Cool Aid packets available again in several flavors which you can also try adding to the water making it more drinkable. Again no calories unless you add sugar. Some people feel this makes the water taste better hence will drink more. Or try plain old lemon juice. And I agree with Cheryl drinking it slightly cold makes it taste better
  • Welcome!! I am new as well and this has been a really supportive site for me!! Good Luck!!
  • Thank you, Thank you all for the warm welcome!
