I'm not sure why they call it "pancake syrup" and not just "maple syrup," but I wanted to let you all know I tried this, and I LOVE it! It's got Splenda in it and was the only sugar-free syrup I could find that did NOT have sugar alcohols. I have used it as a normal condiment at breakfast, and I have also used it in recipes in place of honey (used it to lightly sweeten a stir fry earlier this week--YUM!).

I am amazed at those Walden Farms products - how they get 0 calories, etc. Not very natural though, so I steer way clear. Personally I'd rather spend a few points on the real stuff!

I know people who love these, but I've never tried them myself...but they call it pancake syrup instead of maple syrup because, in at least a couple of states (I know Massachusetts is one of them), you can't call things maple syrup if they don't have at least some maple in them...which of course this can't, because it is calorie-free.

I was curious about the Walden Farms products. I saw them advertised in my mother-in-law's Weight Watchers magazine and it seems like they have a pretty extensive line out. I've tried the raspberry vinegrette dressing and it was very good.

But I'm not counting points, I'm on South Beach, where normal maple syrup is not allowed (which I why I posted this in the South Beach and Low Carb sections)

Also, it's not as unnatural as I would have expected. When I read the ingredients on many of the Walden Farms products, there were way fewer unpronounceable chemicals than I would have expected.

I love this stuff too! I just ordered more. It can be used to sweeten lots of things.

The syrup probably does not contain enough actual maple syrup to be called maple syrup...probably just flavorings. Like "yellow rice", it has so little saffron in it that the manufacturer isn't allowed to label it as "saffron rice".

I haven't been a big fan of any of their salad dressings, but this syrup is quite good. I wish I liked the dressings as much, but I haven't had much luck in that department!

Puncezilla, I've been lucky enough to find a grocery store near me that carries it so I don't have to order it. I was thinking or trying the Walden Farms barbecue sauces, though, which I haven't been able to find in any stores.

I have to use just a little bit of the salad dressing, which is ironic since it doesn't have any calories and you'd think you'd want to use a ton! I think because it has so much vinegar in it, the flavor is so strong.

I don't care much for their salad dressings, but their BBQ Sauce is pretty good, and their Caramel Sauce is wonderful for dipping apples into. They make a Raspberry Spread, too, that I like to use as a glaze when I make strawberry pies.

I take a small container to work lots of days with a tablespoon of the Walden caramel dip mixed with a tablespoon of reduced fat peanut butter. I dip apple slices in it, and it's delicious!

Linda, where do you find the Walden Farms products? I'm thinking Wegman's might be my best bet. I tried everywhere at Acme tonight and couldn't find anything that remotely resembles them (also no DaVinci syrups ).

Our Giant carries a large variety of the Walden Farms products. The DaVinci syrups can be hard to find sometimes. If you have a TJMaxx nearby, check in there, and the SuperWalmarts usually have the caramel, vanilla, raspberry, hazelnut and sometimes the Kahlua. Wegman's carries their own brand of SF flavored syrups, but they only have a few and they are pretty costly.
