  • Hi folks - I got permission from Sandi (our moderator) to start a new weekly thread.

It seems that no matter where we are in the journey of life... if our food and life are in a good place OR if our food and life are not in the best place... It always helps to show gratitude. There's always something to be grateful for.

    Got five? Want to share?

Please feel free to share daily or weekly or whenever you like.
  • I'll start... I am grateful -

    - willingness to try

    - my mom is happy in her apartment & that she moved closer to me. I never thought she'd ever be happy again after my stepdad died. But, she is.

    - my grandson, Alex, is going to be one soon. I can wait to see him. He waves bye bye now

    - my warm house - when the wind chill is -7 below zero - I hope the homeless have found warm shelter

    - friends, family, 3chicks, and internet connections
  • Love it! I am all about being grateful for the wonderful life I have. This is a brilliant thread.

    1. That I was not up at 5:14 a.m. like Beverlyjoy
    2. My beautiful (clearly gifted ) one-year-old daughter
    3. My fabulous husband of 9.5 years
    4. A job I love with the flexibility to work a day a week
    5. That God shows my undeserving-self daily grace.
  • I am grateful that I can still move!! I'm grateful that I made this choice - to change my life - NOW while I can still walk, I can still exercise, I can still ride my bike! Having gained 30 lbs so quickly (in just 6 months), I can feel the difference, and I honestly believe that I would not be able to move like I can now if I gained another 30 lbs.

If moving feels good now, I can only imagine what it's going to feel like when I'm not carrying a whole extra person around on my frame!!!!
  • Awesome thread!

    I am grateful:

--that I woke up this morning breathing
--that I am starting a new phase of my life
--that I have healthy food in my fridge
--that I am able to move freely
--that I a support system like my friends at 3FC to help me through the day
--that I have an amazing boyfriend who loves me regardless of what I look like on the outside, and who supports my decisions
  • I am grateful for:

-- my loving and supporting family who have encouraged and cheered me on with my (our) new lifestyle
-- taking the time to find a way of eating that not only works but that I enjoy and will continue for life
-- the abundant beauty around me. It's everywhere when I take the time to look.
-- being healthy, not broke (hehe) and wise
-- and most of all, right now, that my lime, shrimp salad will be properly chilled in 3 minutes because I am starving (and I LOVE lime, shrimp salad!)
  • I am grateful for:
Two humerous, witty, intelligent and most of all healthy little boys.

A husband who takes care of everything so I could stay home and nuture those two wonderful boys.

My best friend ever -- my sister, who supports me and encourages me with no end.

The fact that I'm trying to rope this weight thing under control while I am still healthy enough to do so.

That I am "old enough to know better" but still young enough to have so many opportunities.
  • Hey, Kidslibrarylady - you're right! You have the baby...YOU should be up at 5:00 AM!

  • I am thankful that:

    * my daughter is healthy and has a great sense of adventure and thinks the dorky songs I make up for her are hilarious.
    * my DH and I are in a much better place in our relationship than we were last Valentine's Day.
    * a new, giant HEB opened up across the street so we can buy good food, and they carry those shirataki noodles which I've wanted to try but never was able to find.
    * I am still inspired to stay on plan and haven't had any serious temptations to stray, even though I usually do by this point. =D
    * I found 3FC and met people like me who had over 100 lb to lose. That has taken a heavy burden off my shoulders and inspires me to know that there are people trying to accomplish the same goals as I am.
