  • OK, so I just got off the phone with one of my good friends. She called to wish me a happy 40th and as I'm the youngest of all of us I got the whole "you're 40 now, over the hill, yadda, yadda, yadda" stuff. Cool, no problem, we were laughing together. But then I started thinking. Wow. I'm 40. When I was 38 and 8 months old I sat at this same computer crying thinking my God, I've got to do something. Anything. What I wouldn't give to be healthy by the time I turn 40. Look at me now! I actually achieved that tremendous dream I dared to dream less than a year and a half ago. Here I am, on my 40th birthday, sitting at the same computer and crying again. Happy tears this time, because I did it. I reached my goal. I exercise almost every day. I have the energy of a 20 year old again, and I feel good....better in fact than I've felt on the last 10 birthdays. What a difference 16 months can make in your life. Oh, dear, better go fix the makeup before somebody sees me!
  • You have accomplished something very awesome You should be very proud of yourself.
  • Awwwwww, happy birthday Kelly. You gave yourself the best 40th birthday present ever!

  • Wow! Boaterswife! I know exactly how you feel. I am 38 and the
same thing happened to me. I (like you) feel better now at almost 40
than I did 10 years ago. Go out and have a great Birthday and celebrate
    your accomplishment!!!!!

  • Great, great post, Kelly. I would like to write a post similar to yours on my birthday in May. Thanks for proving that it can happen.
  • This is what's so great about this forum. Somebody right now is where you were more than a year ago and feeling the way you did. They get to read posts like this one that give people a lot of hope. Needing to lose so much is so overwhelming that hearing the success stories can make all the difference in getting started.

Hope it was a fantastic birthday.
  • Oh Wow!!

Congratulations, not just on acheiving your goal, but on acknowledging the difference you've made.

This is a post has inspired me and made me very happy.
