Pita Chips snack - 2 pts

  • I made this yesterday.

2 small pita breads, cut each in half, and then split the halves with a knife edge, then cut each half in half. So you would have 8 dorito shaped wedges.

In a small bowl, make a spice misture of 1 T. onion powder, 1 T. garlic powder, 1 T. chili powder and about 1 t. salt, mix together and put it in a cheese sprinkler.

Lay out pita wedges on cookie sheet and spray lightly with olive oil spray, sprinkle on spice mixture. Bake about 2 minutes, then remove from oven and turn pita wedges over, spray other side lightly with olive oil spray, and sprinkle on spice mixture. Return to oven for 2 to 3 minutes until crispy.

Eat as is, or use as a dip for hummus or other type dip.

  • Oven temp for pita chips = 400 degrees
Oven temperature should be 400 degrees.
  • These have been a fav of mine for years and they are also a good sweet snack if you spray a plain pita with pam and use cinnamon mixed with brown and white sugar. The other way is awesome too and I like to mix salsa with the cheese conqueso dip by tostitos brand. It is only 1 pt for 2 tbsp of cheese dip . I will mix 2 parts salsa to 1 part cheese dip
