Sweet! Most people think my music taste is odd. I'm apparently too young to like a lot of the older rock and 80s stuff, and people just think I'm weird for my crazy european music.

  • I just started running and I really like the finale from the Last of the Mohicans ( haven't ever been a runner before but that music has always made me want to run), I also like Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) by Mika and Push The Button by the Sugababes.
  • ooh fun thread! first off, let me second the podcast idea. I got ADDICTED to This American Life while at the gym, and some of the episodes are so funny I've found myself laughing out loud on the sit up mats (I'm not prone to self-consciousness at the gym, I prefer to believe that NO ONE is watching me -- why would they want to??) Also, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. Both of these are available at the iTunes store.
    As for music:
    Stevie Wonder
    Jimi Hendrix
    White Stripes
    Led Zeppelin
    Mika
    Joss Stone
    Queen (particularly Fat Bottomed Girls)

And a lot that's already been said.
    Keep it coming!!

I LOVE THAT! Now if we could all think your way! I'm going to try that at the gym tonight, though! You're awesome!
  • Glad I could help!! You want another one that keeps me going? If someone IS watching me, I figure my fat butt on the treadmill is inspiring them! I mean, if I can get myself moving, ANYONE can!!
    Good luck at the gym!!
  • kittH, I love the bands you picked. I stick to indie and lesser known bands because I enjoy it the most and listening to music that hasn't been played out makes the time fly! I also love The Go! Team (Keys to the City always makes me dance), Juliette & the Licks (kick-butt rock), and 1990's (high energy). I've got to look into the Tokyo Police Club, another friend also recommended it. Do you have any online radio stations?
  • I listen to what I call my "workout mix" it starts with songs I like and leads up to my favorite songs that I always want to listen to so I keep on going.

    Alicia Keys - No One
    Beyonce - Irreplaceable
Black Eyed Peas - My Humps
Boys Like Girls - The Great Escape
Carrie Underwood - Before He Cheats

When I do work out and it's not yoga, I listen to:
    Korn (any and all albums)
    Disturbed(all)
    Soil (all)
    Godsmack(anything but acoustic)
I also like to toss in a little Metallica, Slipknot and some of Kid Rock's songs like jackson, mississippi and bawitiba(sp?lol)

I've got a new CD and haven't worked out yet with it but Pantera rock!! I can't wait to try them out. It's something about the energy around the hard rock/metal bands. They're just awesome. Gotta love the carrot!
