+Positives+ from a bad week.

  • Life has dumped a whole lot on me this week. I haven't eaten like I should or done any formal exercise.

I got hired as the Design Editor for the campus yearbook Monday because the last girl quit...Leaving me two weeks until my first deadline, and two months of unfinished work to do because she got NOTHING done. No cover. No layouts. I started from scratch. Had midterms. Got hired at another job. I have deadlins for projects in my senior exhibit class. I have maybe 1/4 of my show pieces done..I need to be at the halfway point.

My point is I have been working from 8AM until late into the night, with little time for anything. So I have gotten lazy. I have been slipping into my fast food faze again. I do well for breakfast and lunch because our campus has many fruit, vegetable, and healthy sandwich choices....but by the time I FINALLY get to head home I just want to stop at the nearest restaraunt and find ANYTHING to eat.

And even though I have eaten fast food atleast once a day this week...I still know I haven't reverted back to the old me and THAT feels good. I THINK about what I am getting. I get chicken sandwiches instead of two double cheeseburgers. I don't super size my meals with enormous amounts of coke and fries (though I can't quit fries completely, love those damn things LOL). I don't go BACK for MORE fastfood at midnight when I get the munchies and I have a couple of hours of homework left. I still hold myself accountable and put everything on Fitday, even though I don't like what I see.

So through a week of not so good eating, I am relieved to look back and draw some positives from it.
  • I agree, you are making smarter choices, and thats wonderful!
  • You sound like you made some good choices.
Things will get back to normal before you know it!!

  • Wow! You do have a lot on your plate, speaking euphemistically, of course!

I think you know what you need to do and it sounds like you are doing it.
  • Way to go on the good choices! Maybe if you could find like 20 minutes one day to plan out your weeks suppers, since suppers seem to be your issue right now. I know if I don't plan ahead, I get frustrated and am starving and will just grab anything. I wondered where you were............glad you posted. Hang in there, you sound really stressed. Hope you have a better week next week!!!
  • Sounds like you are in a tough situation. Good for you for not sinking into denial (I would tend to not acknowledge the choices and calories!)
