Needing OA prayers for son's surgery!

  • Hi, everyone! I'm just checking in to ask you all to remember my son in your prayers next week - he's been accepted as a patient for brain lesion removal to (Hopefully!), stop his seizures! It seems like God's just opening one door after another so we feel like this is Brent's big chance at wellness.

I know you all understand about giving it all to our Higher Power and would appreciate all the support we can get. His surgery is next Thursday, August 16, the day after he turns 15.

Also, thanks so much for listening and writing back when I was so in the pits a few months ago! I will get back on here after we get home and let everyone know how it goes!

    Love to all,

    Elaine

    Hi Elaine,

just to say you and your son are in my prayers today. I wish you every Irish blessing. Thank you for sharing your courage with us here.
  • I'm sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers your way!!
  • Thank-you for the prayers!
Just want to say thank-you for all your prayers! All of Brent's procedures went as smoothly as they could go, and they found that it wasn't a lesion, but a slow-growing benign tumor called a "gangliocytoma", I believe. The surgeon says that after the final results are back in a week we'll know for sure if that's what it is. He thinks he got all of it and if so, Brent's seizures are probably gone for good! We'll know for sure in a few weeks.

There were all kinds of small "God moments" this week, and one of the best was that Brent got to go home just 36 hours after his surgery when the surgeon said that leaving after 48 hours is quite rare!

Again, thank-you so much for your thoughts and prayers, it means so much, and I'll be glad to do the same for each of you any time!

    Take Care,

    Elaine
  • great news
Hey Lisette, What a wonderful outcome to your son’s surgery. I’m so pleased for you. As a mother I can imagine the kind of pain and worry you’ve been through.

You deserve the peace and joy now that comes from watching your son go from strength to strength.

Good too to hear such a positive story of modern medicine at its best – not forgetting, of course, the incredible power of prayer!

    Best of luck,
