Okay, guys, only about 7-8 weeks to our first exhibition game (Hurricanes - Caps 9/16.) Great excitement with the 'Canes as Matt Cullen, who was a big factor in our winning the Cup in 2006, is coming back to us after a year with the Rangers, and it looks as though Bret Hedican will be able to play for us again. We expect our guys to be over their Cup hangover, and ready to make another run! Anybody else thinking about sweatshirts, hot dogs and Coronas at the rink yet???

yeah, I miss hockey already. My Sabres just kind of rolled over and gave up... someone took the wind out of their sails and now Drury has left.... sniff, sniff. It's the Buffalo curse, I know, I know....

aymster, it must have been an awful feeling to have your team ON FIRE for so much of the seaon, and then have it all go out the window, in the end. I admit I'm an "ABB" person, but I understand how it knocks the wind out of your sails when that happens, and I felt a little bad for friends who pull for Buffalo.

The Hurricanes never got going last season, too much SC hangover and injuries still trying to heal from the long 2005-2006 season. But we have high hopes for the coming season ... may the best team win it all!

I won't post on this thread anymore because I have a deep and seething hatred for ABB people. Honest to God...why is it that there are so many people out there that feel that Buffalo is SO FRIGGEN UNWORTHY of being proud. It makes me so MAD!! I've been a Buffalo sports fan since about fifth grade and have been laughed at, mocked and ridiculed for DECADES!!! WHY??

That's okay...I'll always have my moment with Joe Ferguson when I was 14 and he gave me an autograph and told me I was pretty. For those of you who don't know who Joe Ferguson is....I just don't have time for you. He was my favorite quarterback.

Anyhow...GO SABRES!!! And here's to the years to come that we have fun at our games whether we win or lose.

Techwife, maybe the phrase "ABB" is more abrasive to your ears than many of us consider the "AB?" to be. I'm in the middle of ACC basketball country, where the fans are all rabid this-team or that-team, and everybody has a different "AB?" team A HUGE number of fans in this state are "Anybody But Carolina (UNC)" fans ... and Carolina is MY team! But I don't take it to heart ... I feel that way about DUKE!!!

I hope you have a fun year with your Sabres next season (except when they play my 'Canes!)

Yes...we SABRES fans have had a bad summer.

Yup! I may live near the Ducks now, but I will ALWAYS be a Sabres fan. I am a bit sad to hear about Briere & Drury.
