  • Ya'll are so sweet!

We had daddies, mommies, friends, aunts, cousins, grandparents...everyone was there to celebrate.

And yes, I do have a cake photo:

I just loved it. The bottom layer was white cake with raspberry, a little bit of marzipan, and vanilla creme. The top two were dark chocolate cake, soaked with a bit of grand marnier, filled with chocolate mousse, a thin layer of orange marmalade, and a leeetle tiny bit of candied orange peel. I didn't get to taste the chocolate one! It is, however, in the freezer - but I have to wait for the first anniversary.
  • OUTSTANDING!
  • Beautiful cake - the chocolate bit sound HEAVENLY just like 11 months 2 weeks or so until you can try it! (don't remember the exact date of your wedding, heh)
  • Ten months and a week until I get my cake.

Luckily, Sarah's mom used to make wedding cakes - she provided detailed instructions on how to freeze the cake to prevent frozen-icky-cake-taste, so hopefully it'll still be yummy. The cake design was a play on our invitations...the little white-on-white motif is the flower design from the invite, and the ribbon color is the same color as one of the invitation layers.

Wow, I paid too much attention to details.

    :-P
  • You two are just beautiful--especially that we here at 3FC know how hard you worked toward this day! Great pictures and everyone looks so happy. Congratulations again for many happy years together.

I remember my Scottish friend who saved the first layer of her wedding cake. I guess their tradition was to save it for their first born's 1st b-day. Her cake was over 3 years old--they removed the old frosting, cut it up and frosted individual pieces and wrapped them in pretty paper and gave them out to special friends. I said thank you, but didn't eat it

  • Mandalinn, you 2 are gorgeous and you're even more gorgeous together as a duo. You look like you were made for one another. GREAT PICTURES.

And that cake - whoa baby. It looks marvelous and sounds utterly delicious. I will tell you this, it sure sounds worth "cheating" for. Yummy.

I hope the rest of your lives are as happy as those pictures make you out to be. CONGRATULATIONS!
  • and .... Gorgeous cake!! Send me a piece ...
  • I'm just so dense...I'm thinking Sarah was your maid of honor, then I thought it was a double wedding, then just as I was wondering where the husbands were, the lightbulb finally went off and I said, Oooooohhhhhh...now I get it. I'm so dense...

Anyhoo....you both look wonderful and VERY happy. Especially since you must have really gone through a lot to get to this wonderful day for you both. Congrats to you and thanks for sharing the wonderful pics!!
  • How absolutely gorgeous everything is, from the place settings to the brides to the cake. Your photographer must have been very good. Those photos look like them came from a glossy women's magazine. Congratulations!

Maybe ONE too many hockey pucks dear Nah...she had me fooled here until right BEFORE the wedding...but...as I say...she's one of MY FAVORITES!!! same name as my kiddo!! OH YEAH!!
My AMANDA called me at work today between her meetings....doesn't plan on coming "home" this week-end yet ....something about her husband and her have PLANS!...doesn't he EVER think... ...that her daddy MIGHT have plans for her

It is Father's Day though...although she and the had made plans to take his mom, my-ex and Angie to the Hotel Del Coronado (SWANKY!!) for a belated Mother's Day brunch Sunday, until the realized it was Father's Day. I told them forget about me...we can do ME anytime...but they said that it would probably be too busy and $$$$ maybe more $$$$ since it was Father's Day to take the moms...we shall see..........
  • You both look so beautiful and very happy Thank you very much for sharing your lovely photos with us! Many, many happy years together!
  • Ya know, I think giving a description of a cake like that on a diet board is against the board rules or something. LOL
  • Sorry for the cake description...I should put a food porn warning. I'll let ya'll know how it tastes in 10 months.

I guess I should have probably been more descriptive in calling it a "wedding". But saying "I had a wedding" sounds a heck of a lot better than "i got committed"

Gary, your Amanda should think more about her daddy. I saw my parents the -day- i got back from the honeymoon, and have visited their house on weekends at least twice since. The must be getting to her.
  • Hey kiddo ~ She did call me when she got in the airport from Hawaii, she did drive here the next day after work....she is about 40 miles south of me now...and I have seen her both week-ends because she/they came up. She actually spent most of Saturday with me without the ...golfing...BUT THAT STILL IS NOT ENOUGH!!!

And now I go way out of town til friday night...oh well...
