Limits while breastfeeding?

  • I'm on the red plan since I'm breastfeeding (used to be on gold). I think they told me I could do take-off, but couldn't use the juice. I declined - because I didn't want my milk supply to suffer from any large decrease in calories. Now - I'm thinking about it - because my supply has tapered off - I'm pretty much just nursing in the morning and at night. Do you really think the juice is a no-no for me? I figured I could tell the COD I'm doing it with fruit - but then use the Knudsen's juice... What do you think?

    I had some in my cabinet from before I got pregnant - it says to use by March 2006 - I guess I need to pitch it and buy new...
  • Did you talk to the COD about switching to a lower plan? I’m on red 1 because I’m also nursing but normally I’m on gold and they told me to let them know when DD isn’t exclusively nursing. She’s only three months old so she hasn’t had anything else but breast milk, but I think the COD was suggesting they would move me down when I start supplementing or when she starts getting solids. If you’re struggling, I think I would talk to them first before doing TO. You may just be on the wrong plan.
  • When I was exclusively nursing - they told me the same thing - to let them know when I started solids or reduced my nursing at all. I brought this up with the COD last week, and was told 'you need to stay on red until you are done nursing completely'. I didn't think this made sense - but I didn't argue because I like all the food I get on red. To be honest - I havne't stayed on plan for a solid couple weeks to see how I'm losing. I was considering take-off just to give me a kick start - a kick in the a$$... Anyway - I may inquire about purple or blue as well...
