21 Days to Beat a Rut ... Day 14

  • Since I've found daily and/or meal planning threads and so on very encouraging let's try this. 21 days. Set you own parameters. I'm not even setting a goal. I just need to kick things up a bit. Stir up some enthusiasm.

There's no good reason for me to have an off plan day in 3 measly weeks. Is there?
Here's my general plan ...1400 cals of superfoods with 150 gms of protein (on average), some jogging in each daily walk and a four day weight lifting split with heavier weights.

Anybody in? It's only three weeks. Who knows what kind of new habits we can form!

And it doesn't matter if you're a day or 2 or 7 behind just find the thread for day 21

and begin. There will always be a link to the next day, so that you can progress along with everyone else.
  • Day 15 was good for exercise, low for cals and protein. But that's OK.

    Today I've been for a walk/jog already
Breakfast was ff cottage cheese and yogurt.
In my lunch bag I've got left over chicken, greens, ff cottage cheese and yogurt. Should find a carb.
Later, it should be chest and triceps.
  • Paying close attention to my food has me noticing how little water I drink.
  • 1300 cals
    37% protein (113 gms)
    37%carbs
    25% fats

I'm still struggling with that fats number, but I know they're good fats.
And I did both my walk/jog and chest/triceps.
Yup, that's a pretty good day.
  • Here's day 13

  • Down the Toilet!
    AUGGGGHHH!
I did SO well on day 14 (yesterday) all the way up to the point where I ate almost an entire lemon poppyseed bread loaf by myself! The amount of calories I carelessly scarfed down as I was preparing a healthy dinner, is ridiculous (sp).
    grrrrr....
Yeah, it was one wrong turn. No, I didn't snack or do anything else that was "bad" for me. I just ate like 2300 calories in one lemon poppyseed loaf.
It's a set-back, not an end to the my journey to a healthy weight. But I could really kick my sorry butt now!
    (everything else was on plan...)
    More focus for day 13!
  • The part I'm having the most trouble with is the Superfoods. I guess I've gotten used to the foods I eat all the time. I know what they are, where to get them, what they're 'worth' nutritionally, how they blend with each other and my family ... It's not that Superfoods are weird or anything ... it's me. Which all sounds like another kind of rut.

Salmon, tuna, chicken, ff cottage cheese
    Lettuce, mesclun, spinach
    AllBran, oatmeal

.... over and over and over ....
  • The day 15 thread is closed so I'm just going to post my day 15 here. It wasn't a total disaster but it could have been better. I broke down and had a cookie in the afternoon (but I least I refrained from having two)! I didn't eat any bread with dinner, but that's because it was a Mexican restaurant and they served chips not bread. I ate plenty of chips but at least managed to skip the torillas. I did have two sangria margaritas, though.

Oh well, tomorrow should be better. I'm looking forward to being home in time for lunch.
