First day of induction

  • Hello all. I decided to start Adkins again. In the past I did adkins for a little over a month and lost weight, but quit due to the constipation issues and I am not a big butter fan. I weighed myself today and I was already 9# down from my usual weight anyway (surprising considering the time of month hormonally I'm usually up this time of month). So far, good except for all the trips to the bathroom!! from all of the water. HINT: If you hate water, drink the water with a large diameter straw such as what you can get at McDonalds. I can't wait to get some shrimp when I go to the store and have some scampi..hmmm.. one of the few times I like butter.

Let me tell you why I chose to go on Adkins. I read an article on MSN about Cure for Diabetes and it spoke of a Doctor who uses a low carb hight fat diet to "cure" diabetes. Many of her clients come off or significantly decrease their medication requirments. My husband is a diabetic and my mom is also. So, I figure at my weight, I am heading there. Plus this is a diet my hubby can do with me as it is easy to follow at home or out. I can even see myself on a cruise on this diet. (I'm not much for desserts)

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and ask if you have any ideal how to fix the constipation issue. I am going to buy the flour to make the one minute muffins next grocery trip.

  • For me, drinking plenty of water and eating my salad & veggies daily keeps me pretty regular.

    All the best to you!!!

  • Try using flax muffins or flax "bread". These work for me and are induction friendly. Also psyllum husks in water help (Like metamucil without the extra flavoring) You can probably get these at your local health food store.
  • I have constipation issues too, and I use psyllium husk powder everyday in my breakfast protein shake.
