  • OK everyone! Let's have a chatty week! On your mark - get set - GO!
  • Ok, I'll start, I had a great weekend, spent time with my Grandbaby and taught him how to sign "more" when he wants more. He is just the coolest. I worked my tushy off cleaning my sons apartment and then cleaning my house. So today I was dragging at work, but I had a good day, hope all of you had the same
  • hello everyone hope you all had a good weekend, glad to hear you enjoyed yours lpgoad!
i've decided to take up jogging along with the dieting..ok only for 9 days to begin with i havent seen my boyfriend in a month (longest time ever lol) and i also havent told him im trying to lose weight so i want to kick start my weightloss by jogging for about an hour each day and hope he notices on his own
  • I had a pretty good weekend also ... my son popped up for an unexpected but pleasant visit. We ended up going to the Casino on Saturday - I won $1,000! Went to the show last nite - saw "The Queen" - it was very good movie. Today I went to Curves but didn't walk at the Sportsplex so will have to for sure tomorrow.

    lpgoad:
Glad to hear you had such a fun weekend with your grandbaby! Mine are spread out all over the US so don't get to see too much of them but sure do enjoy the time I do get to see them! What a nice mom you are, cleaning your son's apartment!

    Supergirl:
Jogging sounds like a good idea - that should help kickstart your weightloss.

Hope everyone else had a great day today!

    CJ
  • supergir111 I read that speed walking is better for you than jogging because jogging can do real damage to your knees, not sure if it's true but you may want to check with your doctor before you start jogging.
CJ congrats on the big win, that's wonderful!! My hubby and I are trying to get to Foxwoods sometime this year, I have never been, but I hear it is fun! Hope everyone has a great day!
  • I did good on my eating one day last week (almost all day). Yes, one day. That's big for me, though. Since that day, I've been right back to my usual eating. I've been reading a lot about losing weight and eating right, trying to motivate myself, but it doesn't translate into actions. I don't know why I crave sugar and chocolate so much!! (I'm not having PMS - I am in menopause.) Any ideas?
  • Well gals, after my near break down last week, I made it. I hit my spring break goal. I've finally lost 10 lbs from my starting weight. YEAH!!! Now, on to my next goal. I've got 6 weeks until my birthday. So, it's 6lbs in 6 weeks. If I can maintain 1lb a week of weight loss I'll hit my long term weight loss goal in one year like I'd planned. So, WISH ME LUCK!
  • Good luck 4me I know you can do it
Fitchick2be when you get a craving try first drinking 8ounces of water then brush your teeth, usually toothpaste will get rid of any craving. Hope that helps, last night I wanted to binge so bad that I went in and took a nice LONG HOT shower, by the time I was done the cravings were gone.
  • i like the toothpaste idea but i never get myself to do it when im hungry...thats my next mission lol
i managed to go jogging today even though when i got back from lectures i really couldn't be bothered to, it was a really nice little jog around the woods as it was just getting dark. i think i can keep it up for 8 more days
then i just had a dinner of 1 large mashed potato with onions and 1/2 a can of minstrone soup. now to make it through the night hehe
  • Hey glad to hear everyone had a great weekend!!! I had a very productive weekend at my friends house, we worked out all weekend and she cooked me a very healthy meal. This is so much different from our weekends last year which consisted of terrible habits. A couple of weeks ago I was upset that I was back at 144 but I am happy to say that this sunday I got back down to 140!! I am now working hard on getting to my next mini goal of 135!
  • I can't wait to get to 140!!
  • Thanks for the tip, lpgoad! You are all doing great.

I've been really inspired by some success stories I read on the Good Housekeeping magazine site. http://magazines.ivillage.com/goodho...284561,00.html I really feel like I can do this! They all did, and some of them had a lot more weight to lose than I do. Their determination amazed me, and I realized I can be that determined, too. So tomorrow it is, ladies. I can do this!
  • I just clicked and clicked and ended up here. It sounds like it could be fun. It's getting into the season of more skin showing. I have to drop these pounds. So you guys are the people who are going to do it with me I guess.

Today I began shooting arrows for a hobby. Yes archery. I bought a bow and I have a place to practice. I go with a friend. It doesn't burn calories but it gets me away from the computer (which for work I am at all the time) and out with people (which I really need). So its all good.

I thank you for your time and hope to get to know you better in the weeks ahead. Have a good day!
  • Hi, Sheryl!
