Treadmill vs. exercise bike?

  • I have both just curious if I should use both the same day or alternate them daily, just wanted your advice?
  • I'd alternate them using the bike one day and the treadmill the next day. Your body is extremely adaptive and even though you will start out losing and toning and building endurance, your body will adjust. You must also constantly tweak and change your routine. Do sprints, slow jogs, fast walks, spinning, inclines, etc. Every week try to change something in your workouts so that your body will never get "used to the same old exercise". Good luck!

  • plus working different muscles helps prevent injury.

i dont think it really matters, only downside to switching within the same workout session is you will probably spend more time at a lower intensityas the muscles change gears
  • thank you all for your advice
  • Howdy!

I don't know what other ppl do but I would get bored of just doing one a day. I do 20min on bike, jog for 10 on treadmill, then do 20min on the elyptical for a full cardio workout. What I alternate is the programs on each- one day I might walk on the treadmill and do a high intensity program on the bike, or I will do sprints on the bike and treadmill. If you keep changing it up your body burns more and tones better all over.
