  • I got food poisoning. EWwwwww.

Worst yet, I was eating OP when I got food poisoning. It wasn't some random fast food, it was a beef kabob that I bought for a grill out when everyone else was buying hot dogs and hamburgers! I was being good!

I couldn't keep anything down but diluted gatorade. LOL. I'm a few pounds thinner but I would have rather not had it at all! I was miserable!

Today is the first day I can get out of bed. Woooo! But I'm still drinking diluted gatorade. I'm going to try some Pho Ga tonight (vietnamese chicken noodle soup).
  • Awww, Jessica! Feel better.
  • Yikes, food poisoning is the WORST experience! Glad to hear you are feeling a little bit better. Take it easy, let your body heal and you'll be back to normal in no time!

Other than the food poisoning, how are you doing these days?

    -Aimee
  • that sucks jessica. It's good to hear you are feeling better.
  • It's great to hear that you're feeling better and getting back on your feet Jessica! I'm always amazed by how strongly times of illness remind me and reinforce to me to value, cherish, and nourish my body rather than take it for granted - especially those unexpected ones.

Of course, I prefer to see people healthy and well-functioning So here's to you - hope you get better soon!
  • I'm glad you feel better now. I had food poisoning once when I was 34 weeks pregnant with my DD. It was horrible. (mine was from eating a Whataburger cheeseburger). I lost 9 lbs. in 1 day and was hospitalized and very sick for 3 days. Went into premature labor and the whole bit. Had to have labor stopped. I've never eaten at Whataburger again and this was 14 yrs. ago.
  • Jessica.. that sucks! I've never had it.. but have been told it's nasty. Feel better
  • Feel better soon!!!
  • Hi Jessica!

I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better! I've never had food poisoning, but I have heard that it makes stomach flu feel like a walk in the park in comparison!

  • Oh man! I TOTALLY sympathize on the food poisoning bit.

I got food poisoning on a flight back from Minnesota, with a layover in Vegas before returning home to Sacramento. I got sick an hour before landing into Vegas, using not one but 2 of the "sick" bags (we were in turbulence and not allowed out of our seats, and then we started landing so I wasn't allowed up). The flight attendants refused to take the bag (they kept saying "you just hold onto that until we land...and we had an hour left!) because they didn't want to touch it (which was SO against airline policy, by the way).

Was feeling awful but like I couldn't possibly be any sicker when we landed in Vegas - my choices were to spend the night in Vegas without a hotel, sick as a dog, or get on the one-hour flight back to Sacramento and risk being repulsive to the people next to me.

I get onto the flight, find the flight attendant and say something like "I have food poisoning and threw up all the way here, and while i think i'm ok now, i really need to get home either way - if there are any rows without other people, can you please put me into one?". These flight attendants, thankfully, were nice, and ended up changing some people's seats so that I could have a row all to myself in the back, near to the bathroom, and brought me some extra bags. I threw up three times on the way up (on the tarmac right after we left the gate, right after we lifted off, and right before the seatbelt sign came back on), once in air (the only one where I didn't have to use a bag because I wasn't allowed to get up!). Then I picked up my car in the parking lot and dry-heaved all the way home. Literally, the worst travel experience of my life.

Long story, I know, but I wanted to send lots of love and comisseration to you, because I completely understand just how horrible it can be.
  • Glad you feel better. had it 4 times in my life...the last I was stuck in the Hosp for 2 days......I guess thats why i cant eat roast beef any more....
  • Hope you feel better!
  • Never had it, don't want it, but glad you're getting over it!!
  • Oh Jessica...you have truly been to **** and back! So happy you made it through and are back on your feet again. Pamper yourself a bit this week.
  • Wow, that does NOT sound pleasant. I'm glad the worst is behind you. Good luck on getting back to yourself.
