How many homeschoolers are here?

  • I'm a single homeschooling mama to my three kids. Would love to know who else homeschools here.
  • I'm a homeschool graduate! My mom currently homeschools 5 of my siblings (10 kids total).
  • I have homeschooled my daughters for 2 years. My oldest daughter who is 10 decided she wanted to return to public school this year. She loves it. My youngest is still going thru separation anxiety. She has no interest in going.
  • I homeschool.
  • I sort of homeschool. My oldest is only 4, so I joke that I do home preschool with her.

Can I ask if any of you are managing to balance homeschooling & working outside the home? I am curious as to if I could manage it.
  • Im a stay at home mom. There is no way that I could do it if I worked.
  • I homeschool our two daughters (ages 12 and 7) and have been homeschooling the entire time. Nice to see other homeschoolers here!

I only WOH part-time and I work at a gym childcare and take the kids with me. I babysit a 5yo about 20 hours a week and she goes everywhere we do. I do mystery shopping, odd jobs, and have gone through spurts of working from home (though I've taken a break since I could balanace it with college). I'm going to school part-time pursuing my B.A. (still) and I take distance courses and only go in for tests, so the kids also get ot see me "homeschooling" myself. I get grants in excess of tuition which I use as income.

Gotta get creative to homeschool when single.

How many kids does everyone have? How old are they? What's your homeschooling style?
  • Mine aren't quite school age yet (3 &2), but we are going to unschool them.
  • My oldest will be 7 this month, and I'll make her "official" in the fall by registering our letter of intent with a nearby district. My son will be 5 in March, and my youngest is 3.

    We unschool.
  • i am also a homeschool graduate. i went to public school for 1st grade, then my folks pulled me out and i was homeschooled straight up until college!
