  • Nicole--I think that's a great idea--how sweet you are! Just think of the things you can't live without and that will lead you in the right direction for the care package--tea, Luna's (if she wants to try it--maybe good in the beginning if she likes her sweets, then she can decide if she wants to go all food), favorite recipes, maybe a "tip sheet" of our little tricks, SF hard candy. Gosh--we could go on and on! Of course if she comes here she will get tons of help and advice.

I realized after my last post--it's certainly not just teachers--but surely all mom's feel that way--I wish all humans felt that way, unfortunately that is not the case--what a shame.
  • Hi Nicole. I'm doing better than I was last week that's for sure. Thanks for asking! I have started to see some losses, and got many compliments at a work function yesterday. So that kinda got me psyched. I, like you have come to a realization that I need to start fresh, mentally, and quit cheating. I have not been doing big mad binge cheating either, I thin it's all the BLT's adding up. I was losing soo good before Christmas, and came to a stand still. I'm really mad at myself for the time, and pounds that were wasted. Luckily center is not making me pay for extra weeks to get to my first 20 pound goal, because I have been doing the lites. Well I better get back to my salad, I only get 20 minutes for lunch at work(high school). They must think we have the ability to inhale our food?

Hope everyone is having a POP day!
  • Nicole, do you have access to the Alternative Bagels or LaTortilla Factory tortillas? If not, maybe the Thomas' whole wheat mini bagels could be included.

If she cooks, maybe a little binder filled with plastic sheet protectors and then filled with the recipes from here. I bought my little sister a grill pan with a press for Christmas and did that. I filled a binder with a bunch of panini recipes and some of her favorite comfort food recipes. Then I stuck in a bunch of blank sheet protectors so she could add her own stuff that she printed.

How exciting for you that you will have this extra layer of support!
  • Cassi, what a great idea!!! I'm going ot make one for myself!!! No more loose paper recipes in my official LAWL CB
  • Dan - I used organic hash brown potatoes (don't remember the brand, sorry) all they were was potatoes, so very little sodium. I sprinkled them on top and baked the casserole according to the directions, then broiled at the end until brown. It was good.

Wendy - Sorry you still feel yucky. Get well soon!

Nicole - Yay on your sister joining us! It will be great for her to have you to help her through those petrifying first days!

OK, gotta run, I'm between duties right now... on to the next!

    (Hi Lea Ann!)
  • Hey Kim--it never stops huh? Sometimes I feel like the hamster in the wheel!

Candace--do you teach? I have never been to a school with a decent lunch. And God forbid you try to get anything done during your lunch break (never ending copies, parent phone calls, make up folders!) or you'd really starve.
  • I'm a Media Specialist... I'm in charge of the Library, computer labs, and Media Equipment.
  • Gee Candice......you are one hot looking library lady
  • Oh, and please don't be offeded that I called you a library lady....I'm just joking.........
  • Thanks for your suggestions everyone.....I am so excited......I am hoping she joins us here.........you guys are gonna love her
  • Don't worry about it, not much offends me. Now if someone talks about my kids, that's different.
  • OOf! I just had a Subway turkey breast wrap and am I ever stuffed.. Going back on the Red Plan is going to take some work.. Was never comfortable eating three eggs anyway... I wondered about the baked cheetos while I was standing there in line.. Are we allowed to have those instead of the LA baked cheese puffs? I know the sodium content is pretty high, but I was just wondering...

I haven't had subway in a while, so I thought it would be a nice change.. The counselor who put me back on Red yesterday suggested that I do subway just to get away from eating the same old stuff every day.. So maybe I'll start doing it once a week...
  • Dan..........I have a lot to eat each day too, and when I mentioned it to my counselor, she recommended splitting some of the proteins up throughout the day.......and she also said, if you get full, stop eating........you will get hungry within 2 hours or so, and you can finish it then. I realize that you are at work, so that might not be very easy........I am at home all day....so I can "graze" all day long. Anyway......you might give it a try, especially while you are ajusting
  • Dan - I have the baked Cheetos here and there. I like them MUCH better than LAWL brand and they have the same nutritionals.
  • Thanks Nicole and Cassi... Good info..

Yeah.. Being here in the office it's hard to just pick up lunch where I left it.. I can get by with eating some fruit and/or my lites, but with all I have to do (especially today), it would be hard to resume with lunch..

Good idea for the future though!
