avacodo fever

  • Hi guys, i'm new and i already love the feeling of this place. Just wanted to share that i've found avacados to be a fanatastic help to me. I chop one up in a salad with a little olive oil and lemon juice and stuff 'em in a wholemeal pitta bread. They're low colesterol, high in fibre and really satisfying. I'm struggling shifting my last stone, but I have lost 4 and a half while regularly eating this kind avacado salad for lunch. Thanks and Hi to you all

    I think it's time to try avocados again...thanks for the nudge in the right direction! I swore off of them after I had a really bad guacomole experience, but I want to give them another chance. I'm going to pick one up when I go grocery shopping tomorrow!

  • hi dreamy, yeah some guacamole can be a bit rich, just a dash of oil and lemon works for me, when its in chunks it's extra filling.

  • Mmmmmm... avocado. I half a 1/4 one with dinner each night. I mash it up with a little garlic salt and some lemon juice. Yummy!
  • I'm a huge avocado fan, I eat it with almost everything. On salads, sandwiches, with soup. I eat it plain with a little salt, very little. Avocados don't need anything else.

    Guacamole to me should be mashed avocado (chunky please), some salt, lemon juice, and maybe some chopped cilantro, garlic, onion. That's it! I think a lot of people get turned off by avocados after trying guacamole, which to me, tastes nothing like avocados.
