Snowed in with chocolate cake

  • I live in a large house of large people who don't care if they are large; they also don't mind my journey to lose the weight, but will not help in any way shape or form. With that said there is always cake on the counter, ice cream, chips, soft drinks, juice, and other forms of temptation. I am now snowed in- by 16+ inches and terribly high winds that are suppose to carry on throughout this week and some of the next. To stay in charge I have been jogging, and enjoying my nightly "me" time. I feel so good afterwards that I don't look twice and the fresh pizza or bowl of candy. After two days of this snow, I hate snow, I can't remember what it's like to be in control. I've lost it. I feel defeated by the one thing I can't control- nature. I don't own snow clothes and I hate the cold. Is anyone snowed in? What are you doing to stave off the winter blues? What sort of activities are you doing? I feel like I am snowed in with my enemy, the cure to boredom, chocolate cake.
  • STAY AWAY FROM THE CAKE!!!!! It will make you feel bad.

Here's a little something for you - imagine eating something really really GROSS like mouldy worms, or hair mixed with mud - that kind of thing. Imagine eating it, imagine what it feels like in your mouth and really chew it. Imagine what it smells like - if those worms are mouldy, they've been hanging around for a while and might make you gag! Imagine forcing those mouldy worms down your neck. Imagine swallowing them, imagine how gross that would be.

Next imagine a piece of that chocolate cake, then picture it getting bigger and bigger and bigger, the size of a house, the size of the empire state building, imagine it passing through you like a ghost. Now imagine that chocolate cake mixed up with those mouldy worms. Imagine what it tastes like, imagine those slimy horrid worms mixed with moist crumby cake, now, can you tell the difference between slimy worms and slimy icing? Does the crumby bit of the cake taste like the mould from the worms....?

Has that put you off yet?
  • I Hate Snow, Too
I am in Michigan and we are expecting snow this weekend. Of course its the weekend i have to take my daughter to a band event for school.
So I know about the house full of large people who won't help in the cause to lose weight. I'm in one, too. When I tell them I am taking another shot at dumping the fat they just laugh. real support, huh?
So we will have to be support for each other.
I am not snowed in yet--but guess I better get a plan ready for when it does
I guess I will stock the house with good for me food.
i don't have a lot of advise for what to do--except, do you like to read?
I love reading above all other activity (if you can call it activity) Just don't sit near food. I go in my room lay on the bed and a good book takes away the urge to eat. I am still trying to get into exercise. its been a slow start but I will do it.
Try to take it easy. The snow has to melt sooner or later. Where are you, anyway--if you don't mind me asking. if you do--thats ok.
  • to snowed in with cake
get rid of the cake if you can...if not close your eyes for a sec, envision yourself at a time that you would like to go back to. picuture how good you looked and felt that day...wala turn away from the cake...and move on. Walk away from the cake. Imagery works for people in pain clinics they are told to think about other things, better times what ever. I think it could work for you here too. Give yourself a mental picture of where and how you want to be and know that the cake can only hinder your efforts. I hope this helps!
  • i forgot the best thing you can do. COME TO 3 FAT CHICKS often. I am amazed by all the different people and things to see here. I still haven't "done" everything. I have been holding off a craving by staying on the computer.
as soon as it passes i will go straight to bed
When we are here we are with friends. what is more fun than hanging out with your friends?
  • School has been canceled again today, just when I was looking forward to an outing! As for the chocolate cake... I think am winning that battle. It was a birthday cake for someone, and there is one piece left. I've even had a stare down with it. But it is still there! However I did call in take-out... Lasagna and calamari. ^-^; Win one you loose one? Should I change this posts name to snowed in with lasagna?

Angieks I'll try to take your advice! I'll check back often and hope I can hold out to the winter blues and snackies. I'm so use to going the the grocery store each day to plan a healthy meal that I don't keep an in stock health-food (and because of the other house members). I love to read- I have been trying to keep busy with anime and books. Gah- cabin fever.

2Frustrated... I'll work on the worms... o.0 I've worked in C.N.A. since I got out of high school and started college. Though I'm on leave now, I'm use to doing postmortem care and then eating lunch.

<Worms. worms. worms. worms. worms. worms.worms. THINK WORMS! LoL. Fighting my evil twin right now over who gets to decide the fate of my health>
